Have you ever dreamed of seeing the glorious capital city of Morrowind, or wanted to explore the dangerous homeland of the xenophobic Dres? Do you want to travel to the edges of the Argon Jungle, which few have survived? Or would you rather scale snowy mountains in search of Nords at the border of Skyrim?
Then enter Tamriel Rebuilt, the enormous effort of completing the province of Morrowind, piece by piece.
Our goal is to create the mainland area of Morrowind in a way truthful to the vision of Bethesda Softworks through the study of TES lore. We welcome all quality work contributed to our cause, from models to interiors, from music to quests!

Stryker named new Head of Interiors (5. May 13 18:34) posted by Haplo Discuss News on the home-front, all. Stryker has been promoted to head the Interiors department in the wake of SamirA stepping down due to increased time constraints in that dastardly fiend known only as "Real Life".
Let us all give a warm welcome to Stryker on her way in, and a warm applause to SamirA on his way out! - Haplo
Stryker named Assistant Head of Characters (3. Feb 13 13:54) posted by Haplo Discuss News on the homefront, all! Notling, our Head of Characters, has settled into the role, which also includes realizing how much work there is to do behind the scenes for NPCing to work smoothly as a department. Unfortunately, Notling is also in the middle of a Real Life 2013 (TM) move. To benefit her greatly, Stryker has been promoted to assist Notling in managing the NPC claims at TR. In the current (largely broken) state of our forums, this means Stryker is now a GM. This is temporary, however, because once our phpBB3 upgrade is implemented, Stryker will have all the necessary access levels as a Forum Moderator. Everyone give a nice warm welcome to Stryker in her new role!
2012 in Review (31. Dec 12 13:51) posted by Haplo Discuss The year 2012 has been a fruitful one here at Tamriel Rebuilt. We've seen releases, staff additions, staff changes, videos released, records broken, work forums emptied due to massive progress, and more! See below for a summary of important happenings throughout the year.
March 19th: SamirA is promoted to Head of Interiors after Cathartis steps down from a fruitful time in the position. SamirA is also involved with other province mods. April 28th: Tamriel Rebuilt donates roughly $400 to the coder of its website, forums, and claims browser, which are the driving force behind its system. These large works are integral to TR's success, and to its increase in quality year after year. June 6th: Sacred East 1.0 is released! Sacred East contains much of the Indoril settlements in Morrowind, as well as the holiest location in the province: Necrom, and the city above. Sacred East is the third installment of Tamriel Rebuilt, and is the first installment to be released in the calendar year 2012. The mod was quickly voted Mod of the Month on Morrowind Nexus, and is currently the 3rd most endorsed mod of all time, behind Morrowind Graphics Extender and Morrowind Code Patch. Also a blog post! July 7th: Sacred East is patched to version 1.1 to include many of the most serious bugs and problems present in version 1.0. July 26th: The Australian PC gaming magazine, PC PowerPlay, did an interview with Thrignar Fraxix, an administrator at TR, about the mod. Read it in full here! October 8th: arvisrend (arvythrend on the Bethesda Games forums) is promoted to Head of Scripts, a new strain from the splitting of the "Head of Quests" moderator position. Why, the old Head of Quests, remains on as the Head of Stories. Read more here! October 10th: Sacred East is patched to version 1.2 to include an innumerable host of small bug fixes and adjustments from the previous version, as well as a few additional quests. As of the typing of this post, Sacred East has been downloaded a total of 34794 times. December 1st: Discussions and work begin on upgrading the project's archaic forums to a newer, less-buggy version. December 13th: The Head of NPCs position on our moderating team is reincarnated as the "Head of Characters". This position was filled by Not, affectionately referred to by TR Modders as Notling Also December 13th: The Interiors: Reviewing forum, which often goes years without being empty, was swept up in a storm of activity by the aforementioned Not and the also aforementioned Thrignar Fraxix, who is the current Head of Reviewers. This feat is a rare one, and the activity at TR has recently been such that only a few hours passed before there were interiors in the Reviewing section once more. December 21st: Tamriel Rebuilt survives the end of the world with style. Work on Sacred East, previous releases, and our next release of Almalexia continues apace. Exterior work is largely completed for our most recent huge undertaking: the redesign of the capital city of Almalexia (interior work is well underway). Many months ago, the city of Almalexia was scrapped entirely, and the re-design was commenced by Nemon, our Head of Exteriors. This new design of the capital city uses variations in height, employs a theme of water versus land, and includes some of the most creative uses of Indoril architecture from anywhere in Morrowind. Additionally, NPC claims have begun for Heartland, which will follow Almalexia in the release schedule. We wish everyone a happy winter time, and hope to see you all in 2013! - Tamriel Rebuilt Team
Our New Head of Characters is Not! Also Int Reviewing Empty! (13. Dec 12 17:56) posted by Thrignar Fraxix Discuss That is a complete sentence, our very own Not has been promoted to the core. You may be asking yourself, what is this strange Head of Characters position. Head of Characters is in fact the old Head of NPCs position with a new name. This position will oversee the creation of non-quest relevant NPCs, path-grids, and wilderness baddies. You may now be saying to yourself, "waitaminnit, isn't that what NPC detailing claims are for?" To this I say shaddup; I'm getting to that.
NPC detailing claims are, thankfully, going the way of the Dodo in favor of a smaller claim system that will, fortunately, make the process FAR less daunting than it is now. The new department will also handle interior merging, though this will most likely fall on Not (with assistance from myself). Claimants would create the NPCs for the area, and give them the kind of non quest-related local and regional dialogue. This allows Why to focus on quest creation. The department will naturally work closely with both quests and interiors to ensure that good NPC ideas are used, and potential quest hooks are taken advantage of. To take NPC claims, one needs to be promoted for questing and dialogue. Yes, there will not be a simple promotion just for dialogue. Also, there is not currently a subforum for these claims, so for any interested would-be NPCers out there, you'll want to shoot Not a PM or check the Quest subsection of the forums. Any further questions can and should be posted here. Interested dialogue writers would also do well to send a message to your new-found Dear Leader. Anyone interested in learning to work in the field, or being refreshed, should look here and here. On a seemingly different, yet still related note. Interiors: Reviewing is emptied for the first time in years, and the second time after the subforum's creation. This is related because it was this wonderful Not person who did all of the initial reviews, allowing this to happen. Double yay Not! Haplo Edit: Also a new TR video!
Sacred East updated to Version 1.2 (11. Oct 12 10:30) posted by Haplo Discuss After several months of extremely hard and diligent work, the TR Team is proud to release the latest version of Sacred East! Download the file from any of these locations:
Great House Fliggerty ModDB MW Nexus MediaFire New in this release: --- q2-27 and q2-28: The Fighters Guild in Akamora offers five new quests. (Three more are to follow in the next update.) Rats' Showcase: A shady scholar in Tel Ouada is looking for a Daedric artifact, but for some reason he prefers you to do the searching... Bugfixes: Several hundreds of landscaping glitches, as well as the occasional dialogue and quest hiccup are now history. A number of scripts has been optimized. The "Worthy Investment" quest works again, and two erroneously deleted underwater cells are now again in the file. Many pathgrids have been corrected. Two interiors that used to be inaccessible due to bugs can now be entered. Inlet Bog: The creatures in the Inlet Bog have been revamped. Places formerly devoid of life now are inhabited. On the other hand, the level-scaled creatures have been replaced by static-difficulty lists, and the coastline of the Bog should be fairly accessible in the early game. Other balancing changes: A dozen new enchanted items have been added to the game. Supply chests for the Mages' and Fighters' Guild on the Mainland have been slightly modified. Some leveled enemies in tombs have been replaced to make difficulty more controllable. Most of the non-respawning creatures which have no reason not to respawn now do respawn. Vampires in Norem no longer have wildly randomized armor. More items hidden in various locations across the Mainland, and a few quest rewards increased. --- Great work, team! (As a fun fact, Sacred East has been downloaded over 25,000 times) |
