Since you've clicked on the "Join Now!" link, you must be interested in contributing. Luckily for you, we need all kinds of help! Here are a few lists of the things we do at Tamriel Rebuilt:
With the Construction Set:
  • Interior creation
  • Exterior creation
  • Quest creation, implementation, and scripting
  • US-English Dialogue and NPC creation
For our graphic resources:
  • Concept art - Both atmospheric and orthographic sketches
  • Mesh creating and modifying (preferably with Blender, 3DS Max or NifSkope. Use NifTools to export your work to the .nif format used by Morrowind and Oblivion)
  • Mesh mapping and vertex painting
  • Texture Artists – Use Photoshop & The Gimp to create textures and maps for objects.
  • Model rigging and animating.
Please note that hopeful members who wish to write literature or dialogue, proofread the aforementioned things, and people who believe they are "lore experts" should be ready to explore different venues of modding in addition to said topics. Otherwise your showcase could (read: will probably) sit in limbo indefinitely.
While joining Tamriel Rebuilt means you'll have access to our discussion boards, we only allow 'promoted' members to do the actual work for TR. The requirements to join the Tamriel Rebuilt project are few, yet we enforce a high level of quality control. Members should be dedicated to rebuilding Tamriel the way Bethesda would have, if they had continued on creating the entirety of every province. If you plan to add aspects of Dungeons & Dragons (TM) to Tamriel or plan to change the existing game in some way to accommodate a personal or uber idea, you'll probably find it hard to fit in, and any future ideas or efforts you put forth may be looked upon with skepticism.
To this end, members are expected to build Tamriel, not entirely recreate all aspects. The existing lore gathered from past Elder Scrolls games, Official Forum threads, The Imperial Library and others provide the guidelines by which we build this world. If you plan to build the 'Town of Joe' and appoint your character, Joe the Orc, as its ruler, this is definitely not the project for you.
Please Note: The Forum Scholars Guild (FSG) at the Imperial Library and its contents are not considered canon. They are fan work only!
Fortunately, for those who are less than anal-retentive about Tamrielic lore, our forum is a very open and informative place. If you ever have any questions about a lore-related topic, we even have a specific section of the forum dedicated to just that. It's important that members enjoy modding with the Elder Scrolls Construction Set (CS)! If you've never worked with the CS before, or are a newcomer to its tools, just mention that in your Showcase thread (keep reading to find out about that), and we'll help you master it.
If you've made it this far, you're (hopefully!) just what we're looking for. Joining is simple. Just click on the "Forums" link above and register there. Once you've become a registered member of the forum, just make a new thread in the Showcase forum and show us where your skills lie! Look in the Showcase board for further instructions on the process of becoming a TR Modder. We won't bite (at least, most of us won't), and there is not a single member that wouldn't be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Just be sure to only create one thread; members are not allowed any more than that, since we never delete them. In addition, there are many FAQs that can give you some insight on our claims system and answer other questions regarding the project. You should definitely read every single one of these.
If you don't really have much experience with the Construction Set, but you'd like to be a part of this project, don't worry! There are many members who have learned a lot about modding with the TESCS just by learning from the other members. We also have tutorials on the main page to help get you started.
So go and register in the forums right away!
