They do sound a bit strong for a mage shop.

Why not just call it the Basilica of Almalexia's Grace? Mother's Embrace reminds me of breastfeeding.

Ok, here's a WIP shot of the Alma Rula's garden, for anybody who's interested. Still needs some detailing and remember that the duplicated trees are due to whole Mournhold ash thingy.

Do we even want the scripted trees?
Also, will you be fixing those issues with the platform as was in the Cathedral?

Yes, we definitely do want the scripted trees. I don't know why you'd think we wouldn't.

This might be a good suggestion. It's not exactly a spiffy name, but at least doesn't overdo it.

Lud, once you get to the bread handouts, maybe it's a nice idea to base the reaction of the NPC on PC Clothing Modifier. If the player doesn't look too wealthy (<250, <500 or something), give bread once a day, if not, don't give bread. Values can be found in Greeting 8. |
Not a bad idea.

Looks pretty good, but I'm think you should maybe not use the gazebo. This is kind of public space, after all. Also, I think it's used over by the Abbey of St. Llothis already.

Actually, I'm not so sure about this. We can't replicate the ashstorm effect for anything outside of Mournhold anyway. It would also mean the entire huge city would have to be populated with a handful (two or so?) of trees. This might just have to be something we throw in the same category as "you can technically look into Mournhold if you levitate". I think everyone will understand that.

What do you mean we can't replicate the effect? If we place Almalexia in the 'Mournhold Region' via Region Paint, then it will get Ashstorms just like Mournhold itself.

The path in that garden looks horrible with those platforms used as pave stones... is there something else you could try?

What about those flattish AC stones, like the ones at Holamayan? Shrunk, they might work.

Yeah, I see how that works, then. I'm just thinking it would be kind of a shame to restrict this entire huge city to a handful of trees for a small visual effect no one pays any attention to anyway.

I have to agree on this one. They look like they're obviously meant to be bigger. I'm not so sure about the flat Azura's Coast ones either. I think no path at all might be better.

Oh, right, I get what you mean. Though I don't see why Lud can't use whatever trees he wants, and then only provide 'ashed' variants for the ones that have them? As you said, no one ever paid attention to that effect, so they won't care if other trees don't change.
In any case, I think it is quite a large range of trees which have ashy alternatives.

Yeah, that's fine. I was just making sure no one was advocating using *just* those two trees. There's only two models, by the way. I checked.

Ok, here's an updated file. Haven't gotten as much as I'd like done on Alma yet, largely due to work on my other claim of the Indoril council house and fixing up the Cathedral, along with my current heavy real-life workload.

Hit the back button on your browser and try it again. It used to happen to me all the time, though I haven't had the problem in a while.

Apologies for messing around with this. I don't think I have the time to give this claim the attention it deserves, so I'll clean up some stuff and upload my WIP for revoking within a week, if that's ok.

Hello Lud, Aeven is mad at you for not having posted a WIP within the week period specified in your previous post. Could we have that WIP file soon so Aeven can be satisfied? Oh wait, Aeven isn't a moderator or anything, so why the hell is he worrying about shit like that? That's right he shouldn't be.
Lud, please update.

Prehaps I ought to point out that nothing has happened in 2 weeks. I noticed Lud has an email address in his profile, does someone want to try contacting him (Haplo?). We could really do with his progress, else it's back to square one.

So... tempted... to... claim...
Maybe we ought to get a proper exteriors person to clear up all the little niggles that appeared when Lud picked this up. Like the statues, lack of dock etc. If someone could sort these out (I suck at exteriors) and nobody else minds I would be honoured to claim this. Of course, an important claim like this is probably best left to someone with far more experience than me.

If you could do that Aeven, I'll claim it for NPCing. That would be awesome if you could, it just needs a bit of polish and tinkering. I'm pretty active so I can give you very frequent updates and WIP files.

It's mostly rearranging buildings and then repositioning the northmarkers to reflect the new arrangement. Along with some detailing and life-giving tweaking. No docks, though.

Didn't Andanorcil raise an issue with the statues too? Anyway, post your objections now, because I'm clicking claim when Aeven's done (if he's gonna do it). In the meantime I'll be working on a lens flare.

Yes, for the most part statues need to be removed en masse. However, as a detailing claim, we require you to be an exterior modder with at least one approved exterior claim, so you'll have to wait until the exterior bit is finished before it is moved to the NPC and Dialogue stage (and thus, available to you for claiming).
EDIT: Claimed by Aeven.

Well, this is an NPC claim (officially) not a detailing claim, but Aeven's gonna do the detailing quickly and I'm going to NPC it if nobody minds.
While we're at it, how about some market stalls? That would bring some life to the city. I'd say have a few stall in the crafts district (I'll have it's name when Lud's picture loads, why is it being so darn slow?) with specialist armour (I'll spell it the wrong way in dialogue don't worry), weapons, potions etc. and quite a lot in the poor areas selling cheap food, cutlery and supplies like that. Thoughts?

IIRC Almalexia is actually pretty devoid of beggars and poor folks selling meager goods; Indoril charity takes care of most of what you would normally see in public. Behind closed doors is another matter altogether. *some* pliers of wares would be acceptable in the right locations, but there are designated spots (cells) for those; Almalexia isn't a big farmer's market.
