I completely forgot to say Lost Traveler is now granted to Captain.
As BC said, make the character interesting. Do PM me if you need help, that's what I'm here for. Have fun, welcome back!
I wish I could open that .txt file on this phone of mine.
Edit: it should probably be noted that we don't really require more quest ideas for this area at this stage. If you have good ideas, feel free to share them, but the list that we have right now will do fine for the time being. If anyone has any ideas for quests that aren't self-contained within the M2A8 region please post them in the lore&quest discussion forum instead. I'll open up threads to discuss faction quests for this area at a later date, after we've sorted out these last few misc quests.

I am currently editing Why's file; since he is online, let me mention some changes as I'm doing them.
The Nobura Tayo (misc item TR_m2_q_A8_2_Nobura_Tayo) is now 28000 gold worth (formerly 250) so that it looks more like an epic artefact. The merger is free to change the number to whatever he/she wishes, but please don't make it appear as junk.
At the moment, if one finds the thing before starting the quest, one magically gets a journal message telling one to return to Rilas Dralethan. This is somewhat awkward, but saves you the hassle of searching for the gem again when you get the quest later, or even buying it back from merchants. Therefore I am not changing it for now. What are your opinions?
@Tyrant: There is no Telvanni lord of Necrom. I can't believe you didn't notice that when visiting the city ingame. It's a Temple stronghold, how on Earth would they accept Telvanni in there? That said, the quest could be a nice addition to a crazy Telvanni questline; however, it should be made less of a copy of "Mudlap and the Mosslog". Also I'm not sure how many batshit crazy Telvanni lords we want to have.

That probably shouldn't happen. The gem can update the journal if the quest has been started though, so the player can skip all the Redguard business.
28000 gold sounds a bit excessive for a gem that is only rumoured to be the one from an obscure legend. Make it 800?
Are you sure you want to make these changes? I could do them this weekend.
edit: we can stop telling Tyrant that his quest isn't exactly what we were looking for now, I think you guys got the message across.

Ok, fixed.
I am making more changes than these, and it would be easier for me to make them directly than to post a changelong full of "added condition blahblahblah in order to make a reply disappear after the quest is finished".

I can't say I thoroughly tested this one through, but a few minor bugs have been fixed.
One greeting-7 added (to give the player a hyperlink to the right topic; the Greeting-9 didn't do it, because %Name never gets hyperlinked, even if the name is a topic):
I don't think we have been introduced, outlander. I'm Rilas Dralethan, and I might have a use for your skills in enlarging my collection of gems and rare stones. Otherwise, how can I help you?
The file needs to be de-Mainlanded. I don't know how you guys do that and I don't want to use EE.

Picking up the gem before you start the quest could give you a journal entry that it looks pretty unique and might be incredibly valuable to the right person - ie you shouldn't sell it Joe the Trader.

If the player finds a valuable, uniquely named gem, it should be pretty obvious it is used in a quest somewhere. If they then choose to sell it to a merchant, that's entirely their decision.

Gems don't get put on like clothing or arms/armor do anyway so even if they sell it to a merchant they can always buy it back.

It's not completely finished, I don't think, but I'm uploading the Lost Traveler quest. The escort stuff is working fine for me and I couldn't spot any typos or anything of that nature. But of course there are things that scrape us by.
So the guy's name is Ararvy Orethren and he's located west of Windmoth Fort, 'hopelessly lost'. I hope it's okay. The main things that bothers me is what happens when he acutally enters Hlersis - it's a bit awkward having some guy wandering around a narrow path.

perhaps the quest could end once you actually enter the cave rather than escorting all the way to the village itself.

Oh yes, we'd all like a quest where some guy off a road asks you to take him to a village that he doesn't even know is in a cave just so he can have a spot of flin.
And yes, the quest does end when you enter the cave, but at that point he's just on AiWander, so he's wandering around the narrow path. I checked the Huleeya script from Vanilla, and that has the same script and thus the same problem. It really annoys me, especially since Bethesda thinks they can get away with it. I tried AiTravel but that's torturously buggy, and is probably why Bethesda just gave up.

So take him to a person in the inn and can't you just script him to disappear after a given amount of game days? I always got annoyed by Huleeya blocking the way to vivec book shop..

I'm not too keen on the name "Ararvy". Can we think of a slightly modified version that doesn't end in y?

Renamed the bloke to Aravyr. All the quests that are done and ready for merge are now included in the first post of this thread. If it's a rar file, there are merge instructions, if not, the .esp should be able to be merged directly.

Is it as a last name or a first name? If it's a last name then they could be relatives and if it's a first name, well people having the same first name is far from unheard of
Of course, I'm probably overanalyzing this

Just posting here to say, lud, Not, your quest claims are now officially low priority. See this thread (link) for details. Testing > Questing right now. But don't let that stop you from working on your claims if that's what you want to do, of course.

If there was a like button on these forums, I would have clicked on it.
Understanding MW lore isn't easy as some ingame texts are fictional. There is a more important text which describes Necrom as the city of the dead. http://www.imperial-library.info/content/pocket-guide-empire-first-edition-morrowind

It's the first name. But it's not two people are sharing a name, it's that the name itself sucks ass.
