Gummidge

Description:

This is by far the worst implemented quest I have played in Tamriel Rebuilt so far. Given that it is one of only two side quests starting out from Firewatch, it could certainly use some improvement. At least the following issues should be addressed:

  • Even if you have not got the correct information about what "gummidge" is, returning to Albecius Coloni after having got a single suggestion about it will give him the right item if you have it. Given that this is quite a common ingredient, it is quite likely. This is like he is searching through your inventory for gummidge, which is not particularly realistic. Here the player should definitely be given a choice on what to give him, preferably among the suggestions you have got. For increased flavour, one could add more choices with ingredients that are not included among the suggestions, such as bread or moon sugar.
  • One of the responses to "gummidge" is "My grandfather used to use the word gummidge. If I remember correctly, he was talking about wickwheat.". This could use some better filtering. First I was asking an Argonian giving this response and then an Imperial giving exactly the same response. Their grandfathers would probably not even have visited Morrowind (unless the Argonian's grandfather was a slave, but then he would likely never have met him), even less so knowing what wickwheat is, making this story highly improbable.
