This was spawned out of the Roth Roryn meeting on November 13th, 2016.

We reviewed the implementation of interiors and exteriors in the Roth Roryn region, and found a well fleshed-out Ordinator training ground interior that was ill-suited to its remote Roth Roryn location. We have since decided that the exterior Temple structure will be re-matched with an Aralor shrine/monastery interior of some sort, but that leaves the Ordinator interior to be recycled.

The proposal is to turn it into Iliath Temple. Iliath Temple is presented to us in ESO, roughly west of Ebonheart and in a mountainous region on the border of Morrowind. In the lore it was made to train Ordinators—convenient!

What we need is a possible location to put Iliath Temple on our map, and a lore reason for why it’s so far flung from the Indoril heartland or a large Temple.

Discussion, suggestions, ideas, go!

Maybe it place, where future ordinators brake all their relationships with their familes, old friends and all stuff. Here they meditate and learn their new path. Also there is very dangerous place where they can train their combat scills.
Also there ordinators choose they future like be regular ordinator, necrom ordinator or other that tempels of ordinators like different armors was created to skywind back than don’t know this is they lore or official

If you take a look at the Iliath Temple in ESO, it clearly has Indoril style of architecture (which does not match the Velothi style that the interior we need to recycle has). Might not be worth the connection to the ESO location if we cant keep the architecture consistant.

I thought all of TESO used the Indoril style anyway? (whatever that would mean as to the point of such connections I don’t know)

Yes, everything in ESO is Indoril style, even the Dres buildings. So I kind of ignore that bit in my head as being something they did out of limited models, not a lore thing.

Sorry my mistake, never played the game so was just going off of what I saw on UESP. Thanks for clarifying!

You’re good! It’s one of those things that’s up to interpretation. That happens to be mine.

No I think you’re right, if the only building set ESO uses for Dunmer are Indoril then it would be impossible to reference anything that might be better implemented as a different style without inconsitancy. I guess we’ll have to decide when/where it is appropiate to reference ESO, they dont make it easy.

I think this sounds like a good idea. Make it so that travelling to the place is a pilgrimage, perhaps a route taking you through water and through ash to wash away the former life and take on the mantle of Ordinator. As for the exact location, perhaps it was a significant place in the life and/or death of Saint Olms.

We actually did decide that and have a guideline/information page.

The world TR depicts has no real connection to the one ESO depicts, so name references and vague strokes are pretty much the best we can have. Everything else opens up a giant can of worms that nobody (not TR, not the few parts of the ESO community that cares about TR, not anybody else) has any interest in opening.

That said, I would support pasting Illiath Temple where the old Lutemoth Pass is (in the middle of nowhere in Redoran lands, guarding a border pass that no longer exists). It has a stronghold exterior, but that can be refactored.

Yeah I wasn’t refering to anything lore related simply this specific ingame location that may have some simularities to an ESO location. I wrote the comment shortly after the Roth-Roryn discussion 1 where there was a split between those who wanted to reference Illiath Temple and those who did not (not to mention the finer disagreements within the larger disagreement: where is the temple? who lives there? why?).

I think we’ll probably end up covering Illiath Temple during Roth-Roryn discussion 3 (next sunday 11/27/16?) which is about what needs to change about the region.
