Hello,

I saw the call to arms post on Reddit and I’d like to submit an application for the position of the concept artist. I work pretty fast, I’m a full time, self-employed artist and I’ve played The Elder Scrolls since Morrowind so I have some basic knowledge of the world and story. I loved all the games and it would be really fun to help with building of this project.

Aside of concept art I also do some 3d modeling, texture painting, and animation.

You can find my art at www.kathrynzalecka.com

Thanks

Hey there, your art is amazing!

As far as I’m concerned, you can start contributing right away. Do you have any preference when it comes to your creative process? Do you prefer to be given some direction prior to working, or are you more of the sort that likes to freely imagine things? There’s plenty of room for both, and we need all kinds of art, ranging from atmospheric, landscape, character design, and functional stuff for assets. Since you mentioned 3D Modeling, we also need that. Your portfolio is very well rounded, so feel free to get started on creating any art that relates to Morrowind (this includes original ideas that don’t exist in the current game). We’ll be glad to give you feedback.

Right now we’re focused on House Dres, and you can read up on what we’re doing in the Concept Art and Conceptualization forums. Gnomey or Kaziem will drop by shortly and give you more details regarding the specific things we’re working on if you’re interested.

Welcome aboard, and glad to have you with us!

Welcome! As Swiftoak said, any concept art is welcome, but we are currently focusing on House Dres and the Deshaan region. You can read about them here and here, respectively.

In particular:

We can always use more atmospheric art to pin down what overall look we’re going for:

This would especially be helpful as we’re still not quite sure which colour palettes we’ll be going with:

Miscellaneous concepts characterising Dres society are also always helpful:

We could also use concepts for various Dres items, like clothing, armour, weapons, furniture, etc.:

Plants, creatures and terrain assets are not as high priority, as we already have enough of the former to work with and we’re probably not going to see any of the latter made anytime soon anyway, but they’re still welcome.

But on that note, 3d modelling and especially animation are a very welcome skillset and hard to come by. If there’s anything you see or draw that you want to model – and of course if it’s the sort of thing we’re looking for – it would be great if you were to model it. Of course creatures in particular tend to be a high hurdle, especially in the Deshaan where they will tend to have at least six legs, and we have had quite a few modellers burn out in the past, so the most important thing is that you work on something you like working on.

Hello! Your art looks great, we’d love to have you help out. Gnomey’s posted a pretty good summary of what’s going on right now, so pick something that seems interesting and have a go at it. Or, if you see something that’s already in TR that needs improvements, feel free to try that too.

Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I’m just replying now. I was out of country. I’ll have a read this week and try to come up with something. The stuff provided should be enough for a start. Maybe starting with the color pallette would be a good first step.
