Oh wow, Hermit! Yes, it’s starting to come back. Ah, da feels! XD I’m not on AIM anymore either, sometimes get on Skype though.
Hey Guys, I’m Harc. Joined this forum a while back, probably around 2010, though I was younger, more annoying, and less contributive at that time. I recently saw videos for the project on Youtube and thought “Hey, I remember these guys!” and from there, I set off and looked into all the work that had been done since I’ve been gone. I’ve never really played Morrowind, Oblivion was my first Bethesda game, and still holds the spot of my favorite game of all time, though I do play Skyrim quite frequently nowadays, I love that game too. I’ve developed a better understanding of the TES lore as I’ve played Oblivion and SKyrim and spent time reading on the Imperial Library website. I’ve taken quite a fascination with House Telvanni, and my favorite character playthroughs on Skyrim have been Telvanni Wizards that I create and keep on a lore friendly, immersive level. (I do that with all of my characters) Sadly, my ability to contribute is just as equatible to that when I was around 10 or 11, though I would be more than happy to contribute some creative lore writing/help should the developers need it. That about concludes my simple introduction, great to be back, and I hope to engage in conversation with you guys! (My apologies if my signature exceedes the permitted dimensions, couldn’t find a post regarding signature guidelines)
I posted an introduction over in Developer’s Showcase, but I probably ought to have done it here. Morrowind is my favorite game of all time, and that’s not nostalgia speaking—I didn’t even play it until 2010. I’ve been aware of Tamriel Rebuilt for some time, and would be honored to help out in any way I can.
Most of my experience lies in writing. As I mentioned in the developer showcase board, I did create a relatively well-known narrative World of Warcraft blog called Travels through Azeroth and Outland, which fleshed out the histories, societies, and cultures of Azeroth’s various peoples.
Currently, I don’t have any experience with modding or the TES construction set. If I have time, I will explore the program and see if I have a knack for it.
Also, is there a document that describes what cities are going to be moved around in TR 1609? I’ve been looking around for details, but haven’t found anything concrete.
Welcome, both of you!
Good question about the signature. I don’t think we actually considered that because I think you’re the first person on these new forums with an image signature. I would recommend using the text from that signature instead of the image, but would be open to suggestions from other leads.
As for cities being moved, none of them are really getting moved, per se, just renamed. The only cities or locations to get “moved” are ones that aren’t actually built yet, if any. Atrayonis is in charge of maps, and he had these, which are not entirely finished, but mostly, at least: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/132891272666021888/226389977213173761/unknown.png and https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/132891272666021888/226390687418023936/unknown.png
Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.
Warm Tear to everyone,
I’m a long-time MW player with a bit of experience in TES modding for TES3 to 5 –– my usual utilities for MW are the CS, TESAME, EnchantED, Gimp, Blender, NIFSkope, and Wrye Mash, which I sometimes use extensively to tweak meshes and textures and add or alter content to my taste. Eg. my Avatar picture here in the forum is my Morrowind PC, an extensively modified custom race based off of Almalexia’s and Vivec’s style and some Chimer lore which I dubbed „Su’uva-Chimer”, „Children of the Burning Sand”. I also created one or the other exterior/interior combo for a few dwellings (I ought to have something I could upload as a showcase demo, I really ought to browse my archive…).
I’m not very good at creating meshes and textures from scratch (I prefer RL surface photos as textures, anyways), but when it comes to modifying meshes and re-shading or re-colorizing textures, eg. for stuff like removing and visually smoothing the disturbingly overlapping stair side-rails in Andothren or Akamora (eg. by adding modified meshes without rails in the end parts), I’d surely lend a hand.
So much for that, Regards & don’t keep the mainland’s west and north-west dormant any longer! ;-)
The more I venture into the realms of wisdom, the more I realize that all wisdom is nothing but illusionary and theoretical. So, in order to go completely illiterate and bogus, I need to know more about everything.
Welcome aboard! Your modifying skills may come in handy for the Aanthirrin (Thirr River Valley) visual update. And elsewhere too!
Will do my best to keep a bit of the load off your shoulders
Well then, gather ‘round, younglings, for I will tell you the story of Lord Andres Indoril the Mad… High Lord of Hlersis! Harbinger of the Spiffening! Level 24 Boxless Madman! Cutest Viking 2013! And all around neutral guy.
I joined the project in 2006, was not nice to be around of and then wandered off. Made like 69 interiors. Tried to amass as many -69 interiors as I could, really. Because, reasons. Amused by numbers. I don’t know if I collected many 42s… Anyway, that’s me. I did things back in the day and might do something at some point? Probably am really rusty though so I might not.
Best Wishes, Andres Indoril.
A thousand times welcome back, Andres! There are some interiors unclaimed atm, so if you feel like it... nudge nudge
So good to see some olden folks returning.
I’ve been playing The Elder Scrolls for a long time. Even though I didn’t start with it, Morrowind is my favorite of the bunch and my discussions are usually centered on the lore. I’ve done stuff like reinterpreting metaphysics to fit Catholicism with a seminary student. I’ve played through mods like Tamriel Rebuilt and Sotha Sil Expanded. I’ve kept up with the series, although I really dislike Oblivion. My lore discussions are not bound to big TES forums. I do it either through private chats with people I know, friends IRL or misc messageboards.
I’m not much of a modder, but I follow Tamriel Rebuilt and OpenMW regularly. It felt right to register. I don’t know if I’ll actually contribute in the long term, but here I am willing to check the forums out.
That’s fine. Welcome!
I’m on my yearly LoL brake, so a few days ago I started up Morrowind for the who knows what time and ,well, you know how that goes. So here we are.
I only started watching a few youtube tutorials today but I think I got the baiscs down – have a small island and placed a house down, the interior shouldn’t be an issue as far as creating it but I have no clue how to link the interior cell to the outside door – that’s for tomorrow to figure out as I’ll be reading through the handbook guides on here.
BTW I skimmed thorugh the the guides and there seems to be a lot of broken images in the exterior guide. No clue who to tell about it.
I hope to be of some use in a month or so.
Hi and welcome.
Yeah, there were a lot of links to imageshack iot seems, since that was future-proof at the time. Didn’t last . We will have to find these pictures again, I think.
Hail! I'm Xeo! The big Orc with an even bigger mouth! I've been in love with Morrowind since I first set foot there, a place equal in its alien beauty, inhospitality, and oppurtunity. I'm here 'cuz I wanna learn about modding, game design, story writing, and maybe make use of my voice.
Hi everybody! After several years of shameless lurking I decided to register an account.. Many thanks to all the people involved in this mod, thank you for giving us more Morrowind to play/mess with!
Hey everyone. I noticed this project nine or ten years ago when I was working nights as a hotel maintenence guy. I began looking into helping out and learning the cs but then started having kids. Well the kids are older, I am back on nights and decided to give learning the cs another crack. So I hope to make a showcase eventually, or I might just have another litter of children. Only time will tell.
Hi you all! I've reinstalled Morrowind recently after reading some of MK's insightful works. I really like this project for the opportunity to fill the gaps in Morrowind's gorgeous setting. I'd like to join as a developer eventually, but for now I'd volunteer as a writer for in-game texts, or quest dialogues, or really anything might be needed. I'm fairly competent in ES lore overall, with a guilty interest for its more metaphorical aspects. I've also some experience modding with the ck for skyrim, if it's relevant. So, any advice for a newbie?
Hello there, Steps! Welcome to the project.
The scripting of Morrowind's CK (CS actually) is a lot simpler than you'd be used to in Skyrim, which may be a plus getting into it. As far as quests and dialogue, the dialogue is done quite a bit differently, where most everything is topics-based instead of using a conversation tree. Quests are run similarly to Skyrim's however, where their stages are handled through the Journal. I've been working on a quest and dialogue tutorial here, hopefully it might be of some use to you: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/forum/quest-and-dialogue-tutorial-draft
As far as help currently needed on the project: you can jump right in and contribute dialogue or ingame texts by a post to the asset browser: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/asset With your interest in metaphor and MK's writing, you might be interested in contributing some dialogue to this questline in particular: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims/parent-claim-foul-murder-questline , specifically some of Ringlet quests which draw symbolism from the Bad Daedra:http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims/schemers-ringlethttp://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims/madmans-ringlethttp://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims/destroyers-ringlet
Implementing quests instead requires a showcase where you set up a quest in the Construction Set. You can base your showcase off a current claim if you want: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims/quests
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for the info, I'll get at work on the foul murder questline asap, it seems really intriguing. At the moment i haven't much free time for working on a showcase, but maybe in the next weeks I will! On a side note, it's really great to see a project still running 15 years after Morrowind's release, i'm impressed
Hello, Conjugal Visits here. I haven't gotten involved with TES much, not outside The Imperial Library. I saw your last couple of releases and this time decided if I can help I will. Was it yous guys that had CS guides or was that Fliggerty? I've used the Morrowind CS and nifskope, but its been years and I wouldn't call myself proficient.
We have some guides, yes. Most of them can be found here: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/tr-handbook
Would you be more interested in working with interiors, exteriors, or quests?
Kevaar We have some guides, yes. Most of them can be found here: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/tr-handbook Would you be more interested in working with interiors, exteriors, or quests?
I've edited/added interiors before, an exterior here and there, so that's where I'll be most productive. (I can't remember ever making a quest.) The CS still feels familiar, so I could probably learn quest writing in a few weekends or so.
Are these your most needed fields?
See here for a priority list of unclaimed claims: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/claims?field_claim_priority_tid=All&field_cla...
Note that in order to claim any of these yourself, you'd have to make a showcase of the appropriate kind. But most of these we'd probably accept as your showcase as well, if you wanted to hit two birds with one stone.
If you ever want help, our discord server is usually the best way to get it: https://discord.gg/9T6TtNU I am on there quite a bit, and can help you with Interior and Exterior related stuff.
Hello. I have been lurking around the discord server last few days while at work and it has inspired me to restart my old hobby of modding TES3. Its hard to believe it has been ten years since I last booted up a computer let alone modding anything. Anyway I'm very fluent in the CS, including dialogue and scripting but my main interest is in models. I have 3dsmax5 and nifskope. I have made bow morphs but have had little luck using physique or getting creature animation to work in game. Could get it to work in preview window in cs but would ctd in game. Anyways I have two kids and a full time job so can't commit much time to a project but may be able to contribute an asset here or there. And if time a few dungeon crawls or somesuch. Anyhow am real busy at work atm so ill cut this long introduction short. I'll be lurking around....
Oooh other oldies! I'm Massey, I joined in 2005. I was an interior modder, reviewer and GMod for a while. Now I build apps. Just sayin' hi.

Hey you two and welcome back (to the site)!
Hi, everyone! Newbie here. I'm glad to have found this great online Elder Scrolls community. I'm hoping to have fun and learn more from the other members here. Cheers!
Thank you very much, The Violet Euphemism! :)
