Edit: Since we're defnitely using these forums, please put any future feedback about the forum functionality here: Forum Feedback. Locking this thread.

As per the skype meeting of Saturday, January 9, we will be investigating using these drupal-based forums and also forums based on redmine. We will be trialing these for a period of one week (which will end on Saturday January 16) and then during that day's skype meeting we will choose which of these two are going to be the new forums.

The alternate redmine forums are here: [link]

Please use these forums (this one, and the redmine ones) as you would normally so we can test out how well they work. If you have any feedback about these forums, please post it here in this thread. Tell us what you like or dislike about the appearance or functionality.

You will need to reregister your name in either case.

KZ's forum feedback: is it possible to store forum posts as numbers instead of titles, or titles and numbers, so we don't have to worry about things accidentially having the same title?

I deleted a thread and it booted me all the way back to the main TR page, which is not fun.

EDIT: I mean, it deleted it, but then redirected me back to the main TR page. It should redirect you to whatever it was you were doing before.

Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.

This is a test post and will probably be deleted.

Aww, I can't manually type tags anymore. And no spoiler boxes :(

EDIT: Also, I don't seem to be able to delete my post

EDIT2: And the horizontal line doesn't work.

Huh - well, I don't like the wysiwig editor myself but that's apparently the future.

Don't know why the lines disappear - will look into it.

Not being able to deletey our own comment is a feature, not a bug. I'll stand by my ridiculous claim!

testing a nested reply.

The forums are flat - I'll steal your styling for the other comment style and let everything else be nested. smiley

Yes, the quotes need some tweaking and quoting nodes and comments doesn't work yet with the click of a button. It's possible to nest them, however. If you choose "show blocks" or what's it called in English you can see where one tag begins and ends. Nesting is no issue.

Also, if you just want to use tags manually, just click on "Source Code" - it's not BBCode anymore, though, but actual html.

As for hr: the html tags have to be enabled for the limited html most users can use and the editor ui doesn't know which parts don't work. I'll have a look at those later. Indenting text and posting tables is something I think all people should be able to do.

Some feedback: when I log in it ports me directly to my profile, regardless of where I was before. But usually I want to be where I was, usually at the forums.

Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.

Not sure I like the new look. There's a lot of empty space at the bottom of each post.

But it's good that I was able to get in and post. Good job on the new forums.

Good that you found your way here. There is work being done on the new website's layout and looks.
