I actually had the very same idea some time ago, both with wood and bone. We have talked about implementing bone-carving as a rather common cultural practice amongst the Northshore villages, especially around Dawnstar.

The Dun Akafell etc. set is the same set used in Old Mournhold, the ruins beneath Mournhold (the city in the Tribunal release). It is supposed to be an older form of Dunmer architecture.

Imperials translate citynames all the time. Blacklight is easier to remember because they know what the words mean.

That looks very cool. I could see it working very well in a rocky, hilly, gnarly environment or in a foggy swampy setting. Either way it's something new, something weird and something alien. Fits the Telvanni perfectly, without resorting to the "mushrooms everywhere" strategy.

Marog is mentioned as a Dunmer village in lore, I don't see why it should turn Imperial all of a sudden. I think a velothi cliffside village would be cool if done right.
