Necromancing this thread with a sketch that I promised I would send to Crucifigo. Figured it'd be worth putting in here seeing as it is for this region.

Update on the Velothi mountain Redoran. The bonemold is either painted white (1) or stained darker and desaturated (2) Yellow bonemold against white snow isn't a great idea in terms of camouflage (and white or dark bonemold would just look cool) . There is less of it too, combined with more leather ...

Nice to see you around again, Nalin. Your concept art is always appreciated. I started on this one back in 2011 after being so disappointed with the Dunmeri stuff (or total lack thereof) in Skyrim. I've been sorting through lots of old art and figured that the idea would work pretty well for the Redoran living in the Velothi mountains, so I worked it up a little and then end...

Some really nice concepts in here. I would've never thought the boiled scrib could ever seem appealing but that sketch has sold me on it :) I have an idea for a velothi mountain dwelling insectoid-elk that I think your Ash dog could partially lend itself to. It kind of has the same colour scheme as ...

RVNANT concepts

I heard that creature concepts were needed a while back, and I think that there was some talk of redesigning the swamp troll to fit with the established oblivion and skyrim troll anatomy and general feel. I think the idea was to keep the creature that we have designated as "swamp troll" ri...

Velothi Mystics I really like this one. I'm not sure how much concept art we need for new armour/clothing sets but it's always nice to see a bit of art, regardless. The shroom helm looks fine on top to me. I think it's the angle in the concept that makes it...

I, on the other hand, like these concepts and see no reason to outright shoot them down. Nor do I. I offered opinion and constructive criticism. The difference is symbolism. A Tapestry is just fabric art. It could tell a story or just simply be designs or have a picture woven into it. But it's just art that is used for decoration. A Banner is artistic fabric that represents or identifies a subject or faction. I am sure your aware of that. S...

I'm not a big fan of either of these designs for banners. The first one is too similar to the lutemoth bug and the addition of the hive doesn't really add anything in terms of aesthetics. The designs on the buildings and the mirrored parts missing from them in the second design add a bit of interest...

The arches work well built into the back of the rampway like that - some on the side of the rampway instead of the back might look good too. The Temple building I uploaded for you has these arches in it (as I'm sure you noticed - I'm figuring that's where you got them from) though on a larger scale....

Adding less horizontally stretched doorframes will no doubt be necessary, I just don't want them to end up replacing the tunnelled ones as stylistically they're an important part of the set. Using flatter ones alongside them is fine.

I really like it. With regards to the bug shell on the doorways; the darkness to them comes from dark crushed bug shell mixed with resin that is applied over the doorway. it seems to far more likely to me, that Scrib would be in a symbiotic relationship with Kwama, rather than a larval stage of the kwama life-cycle. With you on that. I love the idea of scrib variation. I had a "magic modified scrib" and "what a scrib grows up to be without the kwama&q...

It's not set to that background texture - it's an overlay layer so it can be thrown over whatever type of rock texture we want.
