Well, the condition of our forum nowadays is a direct result of the enormous influx of new members we have been having lately. Whenever we get a new member surge, 2 things happen: 1) We get a lot of spammers and trolls that pour in from the mainstream videogame audience along with the constructive n...

Yeah, new membership is higher now than it has ever been in the nearly 2 years I've been here. It is pretty exciting, really. I'd say that an average of about 50% of new members actually decide to post to introduce themselves (rather than just getting the downloads), and of those only about 10% actu...

I have some proposed modifications to that, mishka. -Instead of the complex system of changing forms, you are simply persecuted as a monster, as if you were in perpetual werewolf form. This is a good strong disadvantage as well as more lore-abiding, since we have not a single reference of liches wit...

Looking at those stats, I would still really want to be a lich no matter what character class I was (unless I was almost pure warrior) The benefits just greatly outweigh the disadvantages, I think it should be the other way around. Some other strong disadvantage that has something other to do than s...

You would need to be an expert to do this. I am not saying that it is merely a lot of work, but that it is also very complicated. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot call or set weapon speeds in the script (one of the many limitations of the TESCS), and so therefore you could not say If GetPCStr...

That is exactly what I was thinking, Garriath, thank you. Although I think I remember reading somewhere that becoming a lich in Tamriel is voluntary (I will have to look that up again), I am pretty sure that the liches of Tamriel do not fit the same mold as the liches of D&D. You do not have to ...

I cannot think of any easy way to script that. Not saying it is impossible (never saying that again given all of the script-intensive mods I have seen), but I am saying that it would be impractical. However, the game does already have a mechanism that decreases your fatigue faster the heavier the ob...

If you have a mercenary with you, he does not run from a lich, nor feel the effects of a demoralization spell. You can't assume that Bethesda forgot to put in a feature and then call it lore. The aura of fear is a D&D aspect of liches. On the subject of attributes, I think that a disadvantage to...

That is a good point. But since Molag Bal already has an up to date depiction and it doesn't have a scythe, the symbol on his minions wouldn't be recognized by players. That is why I was looking at Daedra who haven't been mentioned in TES3.

I believe so, yes. None of the Daedra Princes carry a scythe in any of the depictions of them that I have seen, but if a daedra count did, then his minions might have a reason to carry scythes as well to identify themselves as his. Also, some of the daedric princes, like Nocturnal and Vaernima, seem...

Not so sure that skulls would be appropriate for a daedric weapon, since there are no skulls on any of the other weapons (though there are faces if you look close). Also, keep in mind that a scythe might well be designed with "weapon" in mind and not "farming tool", depending on ...

Again, I stress that we should not jump to the conclusion of a phylactory. Liches in D&D use those, but lore from D&D and lore from Tamriel rarely match. I would suggest, if you are so bent on this idea, that you try to contact one of the BethSoft developers, like WormGod (he is most likely ...

I have never seen any reference to a phylactory in Tamrielic lore. Liches are indeed made by a process which is voluntary, but nothing is known about this process. The phylactory is present in Dungeons & Dragons, but this is not necessarily (and probably isn't, unless you have found this explici...

While I guess it doesn't mean too much at this point, the word from the devs is that the skylamps are actually another name for cliffracers.
