Thats pretty sweet! Looks like a rather primitive weapon, compared to most weapons types, but has a lot of character non the less. Perhaps it could be a weapon used by savage Nords or Argonian tribes?

Yeah I already think so... for an argonian
I like the primitive look ...
I call it 'the predator' look :P

not bad

Post by Silverwood »

Thats not bad at all for saying you can't draw with a mouse...

I like the idea of ir being Argonian, maybe Tanza-ra. The axe has a rather of a hacking-at-people-with-haste axe.

It doesn't look very functional to me.... with that placement of the head it gives the impression of a pick (I somewhat doubt you can use the sharp edge of it efficienly), but the axe itself is too clumsy to be used as such.

It's a nice concept though, kudos where it's due.

I really like that shading. I guess you were joking when you told us that you couldnt draw with a mouse. I cant wait to see your drawings by hand.

i like it, if the wooden shaft was more elegant, it would seem kinda ceremonial, nice drawing though :)

Hmm, this could be interesting, but I can't really see how one's head would fit into the helm. Could you possibly draw a side or back view of the same helm? Maybe that would help me to understand it a little better. Maybe a more defined light source would make it look more dimentional... Oh, and get the other axe thread of your's deleted and post that axe in this thread instead. That way you can keep all your art in one thread. Thanks.

I have a good vision of the helmet in my head, I think it must be fairly easy to draw the back and the side :) Just give me a lil time ...

I'll post the axe also here  no problem

Hey, that's pretty cool. I would like to see somebody take a shot at modelling it. I love the axe too. I tried doing something similar on one of my axes awhile ago. It's the fourth one over on the bottom I beleive. Nice job though.

I normally just draw on paper, take a shot of the sketch with my webcam. Then I redraw it in photshop (but I have the basic lines) and color it the way I have in my mind. for the shade effect, I use different types of red, black, yellow, ( dark, light, lighter, ...) and then I just go over these color lines with the blur tool so you ahve the effect from light to dark.

(I hope you can understand my english :P I'm dutch so ...)
