It feels like beating and dead and decomposed horse, but I found the early test sketches I'd done and thought I'd color and upload them, just for fun, since I doubt I still have the enegy to work on it.

Beat that dead horse Scum, You've done a good job with some of those tricky perspectives there. It starts out pretty well - could use a bit more atmosphere in the introduction - but a good enough start. Seems to turn into madness pretty quick though - moreso than would normally be the case with a pub "disagreement"...The hint of shading on the colouring is a nice indication of how it could turn out :) If it ever does turn out.

I think the lines get a little corny when the fighting starts- but the drawings are great, but your such a good inker- you should have inked them. Coloring could certaily be better with a little shading.

These were rough sketches on A4 paper, more like a test for the introduction of the Dunmer char. The words just came to me as I was coloring, but they're following the flow that Pound and me had discussed and agreed on.
If Pound finds some time to play along during summer, I'd be really glad to ressurect the poor horsie and make it gallop.

I think I never posted the final scenario of the beginning, so briefly, it goes like this;

In Old Ebonheart, the Dunmer rogue gets in the tavern brawl and later gets snitched as the cause of it, and connected to a murder that had occured some days ago. He is thrown into jail where he manages to escape in a rather spectacular way (I'm using TR's maps for the sceneries, so imagine a dive from the top of the belltower of the castle, which stands on the edge of a very tall cliff).
Then, we got the Breton thief who's also making a run for his life -since he was seen looting a wealthy place in Daggerfall- and enters Hammerfall.
Last but not least, we've got the Redguard fighter, a former big-shot of his class, who now drinks 24/7 to forget that he screwed up his life and lost his fame.

The three of them eventually meet up in HF, in a rather comical way, and almost instantly they are bound to stick together in order to escape jail, or something worse. Of course, they are all totally different and it won't be an easy symbiosis (ie, the Redguard is almost always drunk, or in search of booze and fights, the Breton is cleptomaniac and the Dunmer's an opportunist womaniser).

And the possibilities are endless...

Sounds like it has the makings of a good comic book storyline there :) I personally hope this goes somewhere - It does get abit cheesy with the text but considering that you were kind of just throwing them in as you went along it wasn't that bad.

I think i have an idea myself with regards to the illustrations - If we could illustrate it with (modified) screenshots that would be really awesome...I'm guessing the Dunmer in question is the very same dunmer in your avatar Mr Scumbago - He looks like he fit's the part....I know that with screenshots there is the risk of things looking "samey" but photoshop really can go a long way...I'll get around to posting some tester screens here soon to illustrate my idea :))

I'm really into this comic book idea all of a sudden

Actually, my avatar's quite different (and more handsome than both the comic dunmer and me).

To illustrate my previous post about artwork from modded screens - here we go -

They took a while to make as i had to open up 3ds max and make the character and the "set" from scratch by importing the nifs from the CS cd, add the materials to them, smooth them here and there and arrange them into the poses I wanted.

After all that it was easy, I rendered them, took screens and edited the screenshots with photoshop...Yes, it took a long time to do - but now i effectively have a "set" and a "character" done and ready to be reused as and when needed - ultimately saving a lot of work and time...If he has a major role that is :))

Feedback would make me happy.

Good work! I was wondering if this wasn't in game screenshot. You know, a new animation.

He does make some very nice illustrations. I'm not sure if he does them the same way as this though.

Scummy, what say you?
Maybe I'll try a piece from the "storyboard" to give you a better idea.

Not even close, heheh. This surpasses what I do, which is posing in-game, whereas Nalin's turned it into something entirely on its own :D

Fabulous result, but the effort put into it is too much, especially for a non-commercial, on-line comic. Plus, it's many sets that would have to be made, and many of them would only be used in a couple of pictures, so the relation between effort and production is uneven.

I've already begun working on the final model sheets of the 3 main guys, the breton is finished, the dunmer is now younger and the redguard's been almost done as well. I've played a bit with the story details -such as the bar brawl which did start a bit suddenly- and thought about the next parts of the story, where I'll also use parts from TR's books, which just bring down the house (some of them are true movie stuff, I love reading through BoT).

If anyone's interested in helping making this in the usual way (draw and color), I'd be happy to begin uploading the new stuff. You never know, maybe Beth will hire us to continue the series :P

That's true, I really like the idea of having it "flow" with the mod though and I've just discovered this way of making images so I'm really into it at the moment :)

Realistically though - It's not a good fit with a comic - It takes me hours just to set up a small scene for a couple of screens :/ Could be good for promo material though?...I guess Lute already has that covered though...but hey, you can never have too much promo art :))

I'd like to see more. In fact, I'd love to see you tell a short story that way.

Strange....I can't remember seeing that one anywhere(the screenshot, not the character...You would have to be living under the shell of a mudcrab not to know of Lutemoth :P(or just not bothering checking screenshot at all))

I'd love a cinematic approach to the battle part from our Morrowind book "Her Hands". I've imagined how this would be many times. Even want to include it to the comic's scenario.

I know i just took a tiny bit of what you said and dropped the rest - but - I wanted to let you know that I really like the idea of story telling this way and I think it'd be beyond awesome if we could really go "cinematic" - I'm playing around with animation in 3ds max 9 at the moment and editing sounds/music to go along with my "Morrowind as the the concepts depicted mod/overhaul" and I had an idea - why not make some of these images moving talking images? If there was a way to put them into a slideshow - Like a powerpoint presentation - that would be helt fantastisk! - (totally fantastic - for the non Norwegian speakers) :)

It's a shitload of work but it's fun and it'd be great to see! No matter how long it takes.
