*Dialup sucks!*

Post by egel »

Well, I find this amusing in a sadistic sort of way:

I used to mod quite alot for Morrowind. Mostly just stuff for me and my mates around town.

And, I have dialup! So there ends any chance of me ever modding for this. GUTTING. 56k really doesn't can't it for downloading and uploading for things like this.

- lol, just me having a cry in a corner somewhere.

The Head of Quests for Morrowind, Ludovic, operates on dialup.

When I started working with TR I had dial-up. I got by for several months just fine. Of course having cable now is a big help :)

Dialup is the worst. I can remember a while ago when I had it. You thought downloading things were merciless? Trying to play an MMO on one, now that is the worst thing ever :P

Yes I know. I have played the occasional MMO and FPS on it. Ping rate = disgusting, lol. Uploading makes all of those look good though *shudders*

*tap*tap*tap*
So how did you post here? Internet cafe?

Yesterday I downloaded more than 110 MB of TR data files (of which, 50 I didn't have to download(bud I didn't know that :) )). It took me some 7-8 hours total. I know your pain.

Internet cafe, two years now. I've been used to it though, so I don't mind much anymore.

I also used to contact the world through an internet cafe (just a few months before I found TR), but I would never found the patience to join and work for a project such as this without a cable...
PoHa: how can we best this trio of trouble? who will save us from this menace of sub-par models? what will we do?
PoHa: I know! we'll shoot an Aro at them
Aro: you have only one Aro missile!
PoHa: yes, but its heat seeking and quite possibly indestructible

Hence my original post. I didn't think that it would actually be manageable, but apparently it is.

Hmmm... Can't think of something to write here

hehe, its because the library uses an internet page to browse their books. but their comps don't have the latest updates...

At my local library, they also use an internet page to browse the books, but they do have the latest updates, sadly...

they use Windows 2000 at my library, so that makes their comps even worse. so i'm lucky I've only had trouble with Internet two times. :)
