*cracks knuckles*

Ok, I am ready for some more exterior work. I have some general ideas for the two forts. We will see how things go as I play around with new architecture.

I think the forts will focus less on being imposing and siege proof, and more on drawing attackers into traps where the defenders can best them in combat. Who wants to sit around all day when you could be slashing bodies.

Before I grant this, know that there is no architecture in TR_OoT_Main yet; it's all rocks and trees and the like.

I know, thats why I will be thinking concepts until then. While I focus on the river and detailing. I also noticed that the OoT hasn't been updated yet.

Just didn't want you to think I would be a clueless modding noob.

BTW, has anyone started on concepts for forts, ruins, etc.?

And on concepts--I don't think anyone has yet. You could try talking to El Scumbago about some

some ruin concepts have been done by pound, lute, and morden (i think). i set lute on making more.

i dont believe that any fort concepts have been done yet, but i think that it is save to say that the curent fortification walls will be used.

Although exteriors isn't my field of expertise, seeing that this one involves forts and stuff, I have to ask; are fort models (thus concepts as well) a priority?

Aren't we using the vanilla OB fort models, at least in Goldmoor?

the forts in goldmoor are indeed imperial forts. i supose that the city walls and stuff will be used for the hammerfell forts in the GM and other regions. in other words, forts would be cool but i dont think they are a priority (especialy for modelers)

Sorry, haven't had the time or interest to check the forums.

A couple things, do you want the forts to be Imperial? The description says otherwise.

Second, are there any plans for bridges and such? If not, I will work with vanilla models.

[Edit]
The Hammerfell Wildlife Protection Agency has just annouced that they have succesfully removed foreign plans, such as the dreaded Stirk statue and TR barrel, from the region of 8-4. The HWPA believes that this will allow native plant populations to recover their habitat.

Yes, just use the normal imperial forts; the Forebear part just means the faction that inhabits them.

And there is a bridge claim available for modeling, but as of yet there is no concept to work from.

Basic layout of the forts, roads, camp and cave are in. I need to finish detailing them. Bad objects are cleaned up.

Plants still need to be placed and the shading and textures need touchups in some areas.

Chaseguard has to be entered on the second floor using some rubble. I wanted to keep Roseguard small, figuring it was on the outer edge of the territory and was probably ransacked a lot.

Oh surely we aren't having those crappy, lame, shithouse ruined forts of Cyrodiil in Hammerfell; instead of shining, current, intact ones?

roseguard and chaseguard are both ocupied forts (wich is why they have names). i sugest using the fortification tileset in 0oT, though you could in theory do something nifty with vanilla resources.

Make up your minds guys. On August 12th you said vanilla fort models.

If you want, I can piece together something military looking from the new GM models and vanilla pieces.

[Edit: Didn't realize that Roseguard was suppose to be a town. I will change plans accordingly.]

I will keep them as Imperial ruins for now then. I am still waiting on LC homes to do the town and the bridge, but I have landscaping nearly done otherwise (need to place small plants and work on the beach).

exelent, all the more insentive for me to finish them up quickly then :P

what do you mean by ruins btw? will you be using a mix of ruins and curent hammerfell arch? they need to be ocupied either way. personaly, i think you could do some neat ocupied things with the fort ruin tileset...

on a random note, perhaps it is posible to merge in placeholders of roughly the same size as the buildigns for building? these could infact be the far LOD meshes... i think this would speed up the proces and not take too long.

Please revoke.

I was hoping to have the chance and motivation to finish before I ran out of time, but didn't.

I'll be moving out on my own this month and have realized that I am just not cut out for modding. Sorry for wasting your time.

I have uploaded my latest (such as it is).

Good bye TR and good luck!

Yup. His work was done in a world named TrHammerfellDUPLICATE000 which I have no clue whatsoever about just what it means. Loading it into the CS along with my neighbouring 8-3 claim won't help, they are in two different worldspaces as far as I understand...

I am focusing on the road for now, and it's coming along nicely.

Okay, both forts added to their locations, roads about halfway detailed and some landscape fixing well underway.

The texture I use for roads seem to add a few tusts of grass however (?)... dunno why. How's that new version of the road texture coming along Lady N, the one looking a bit more rugged and worn out.

the grass is probably from the texture underneath the road, the current road texture has some weird blending problems.i can never paint completely over it, it leaves little splotchy parts of itself all over the cell. i ended up removing it from my cells entirely and saving it for the very end.

the texture is done, ill be adding it to the next OoT :)

Huh? We're not discussing lamps are we?

Edit: Road detailing done, river roughly done, just need the detailing part, adding stuff and such... Now I have 28 cells to go through, fixing sinkers and floaters, adding some trees and moving TOR's from low to high ground, add some flora, NOgrass texture and vertex shading.

After that I guess I'll be adding detail to the river.

Then detailing the forts.

And then again adding the rest of required locations.

And then hopefully celebrate Christmas :).

Edit: This weekend I've spent close to eighteen hours working on this claim. I've completed most of the cells north of the river (minus flowers), and I are now working on the cells south of the river, neighbouring my 8-3 claim. The roads are finished and detailed, although some grass tufts still find their way into the road somehow :). I think I'll be including cells 13:20 and 13:21 (aren't part of any claims in Goldmoor) in order to make a killer waterfall into the river. Then I need to detail the river and the forts.
