I believe so, but you'll have to double check. It's been over a year since I did anything with speedtree.

Never let me near Blender or Max, 5 kittens died the last time :P Progress report: I'm toying around with seeding, trying to make it work well with the CS. Otherwise the way I see it the tree is pretty much done.

If you're happy with the tree could you please upload the .spt file? I'd like to take a look. Speaking from the art side of the project, I can say that we would appreciate your help in developing SpeedTrees for Hammerfell and Quagmire. If you post the file then we can keep this ball rolling ;)

Member Promoted for SpeedTree creation (modeling? not sure what specific category it would fall under)

Yup. I downloaded it and recommended you for promotion. ;) I just haven't had time to get back to this thread. Its a nice looking tree. The only further improvements i can see include are tightening up the second level branch starting angles and slightly lower the trunk disturbance to avoid the more extreme variations. Always test your tree by clicking randomize and hitting the Compute button about 10 times. I'll upload my tweaked version in a couple hours when I have time.

Welcome back to the project FLESH :)

Thanks Morden :) A question, did you test it out with SpeedTree V3 or 4?

I'm using version 3.01... in addition to tweaking the 2nd level branch start angle, I've also reduced the leave frequency from 900 to 650, and the first level branch generation down to 15. The tree still looks the same, I've just reduced the triangle count. On the busiest random tree, triangles will max out around 9,600.. whereas they reached up to 14,500 previously.

Take a look Flesh and see if you like the changes. Whenever you're ready we could probably make a claim thread for this tree of yours. Further progress, such as texturing, would take place in that thread.

Also take a look at the Helkori plains flora Concept art thread, because I'm planning to put up claims with many concepts from there(Look at what Elfane made for us) anyway :) Ask me for a new claim if you find something interesting that isn't claimable.

Will do Morden.

Theres always one problem I've had with SpeedTree, branch placement, seeing what you did there I'm sure it can be overcome.

Aro: I was actually looking at a tree in there. Will get back to you on that :)

And this can be made into a claim.

Ok, going on from the last post I thought I might expand my horizons. To the almighty realm of interior modding. I made a small farm house int, with middle class furniture, it's a guy who retired from (insert here) and wanted a quiet life in the country. As this is an interior I didn't add an exterior model to anywhere on the map, if I need to then I have no problem with that. I've set up the pathgrids in the interior and the NPC has an AI schedule, it's a pretty boring one (eat, eat, sleep) but I just wanted to show that I can add both schedules and pathgrids. I don't think there should be many problems, or any in it, but I also don't mind changing anything that anyones finds bugged or just wrong.

Cell name is FLTRShow. I had a problem with the door though, maybe I just didn't find the right one, but it is way too big for the frame.

EDIT: For the record I can add proper dialog but I decided not to because I don't have enough time today to make sure it works. I've also done quests before, but for now it's just an interior showcase.

There's not a NorthMarker set. The NorthMarker tells the game which way North is relative to the exterior. If placed incorrectly, the compass will change directions when one enters the cell. It's not that necessary when making an interior for an exterior that doesn't exist, but it's good to get in the habit of doing that anyway.

You have used the Havok button when making this interior. This means that there will be some floating objects, like the carrot in the bowl, and the book and BHC on the table in the corner. Just "F" them down.

The lighting is a bit too bright. In addition, that much fire inside of a thatched roof house would be very hot. Not so much a problem as a logic issue. Perhaps your Imperial stays cold?

The NPC is done pretty well, and the AI is standard. The pathgrid is needlessly complicated, though. You don't have to connect a node to any other nodes that aren't located in the immediate vicinity of it. There's nothing wrong with how you did this, but in a larger interior it makes for some weird AI issues.
___
These are all minor issues. You seem to grasp the interior part pretty well. Fix these things up and I'm sure you'll be promoted for interiors. :D

Ok here's the updated version.

Fixed the pathgrid, lol sorry I left it like that in the first file.
Less bright + removed one fire.
Deled carrot, BHC is still floating because of irregular shape, will del if necessary.
Added a Northmarker, don't know if I did it right though.
Deleted old ESP, heres the new one.

Your leek stands straight up, and the NorthMarker usually floats somewhere out in the void.

I'm recommending you for interiors, though. You show promise. Don't bother fixing this, it's nothing huge.

Thank you :D The bookshelf happened when I saw it was bleeding into the wall and moved it, but had gridsnap on and it flew away, when I brought it back I didn't notice things were bleeding a little, 'pologies. And yeah, my leek does stand upright, it's like that on my table whenever I'm having it with something (unless I confused the two things because they look similar), I wont do it again though.

And thanks bamman :)
