For Make Benefit Glorious Blog of Tamriel Rebuilt

Post by Lady Nerevar »

Excuse yet another Borat inspired title.

I think (and the core agrees) that a feature about our modding team would be a great feature in the blog. Therefore, please answer the following questions in a paragraph or two. Instead of doing a dull and strait forward description of jobs i think it'd be better to have everyone write about themselves. Feel free to be humorous and informal, this ain't a resume :)

Essential:
What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)
What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)
How long have you been with the mod?
What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
What are you working on right now?

Optional:
What are your hopes for TR’s future?
What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
What is your favorite area of the maps?
What do you do when not modding?
What is your real life occupation?
Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
What is your favorite thing about TR?
Etc, etc, etc.

Please don't post in this thread unless it is to respond to these survey questions. Thanks!
In hoc signo vinces

Hemitheon: I mod for both TESIII and IV. My main focus is interiors and literature, though I sometimes work with exteriors when reviewing. I have been with Tamriel Rebuilt for one and a half years. I initially was intimidated by TR because of its goal. I assumed my work would never match up with TR modders, but one day I said what the hell and made a showcase. I don't know about TR's future, it'll continue as long as there are inspired modders out there who would like to create a new world. As for me, I will probably end my moddership after the release of Morrowind-Map 5 or 6. That's a long ways away but still.

My personal mantra when interior modding: "Always remember history." Every cell in TR has had at least one hundred years of history unless otherwise stated. A cave in Map1 probably has been there since before St. Veloth crossed the Valus Mountains So the cell should show this history. A small house owned by a poor farmer should show the wear and tear of daily life. A palace on the other hand should be designed with luxury and elegance while keeping historical context in mind.

When not modding, Im going to college, seeking a Master's degree in English and Writing.

I actually mod mainly for MW although I have Oblivion also.
I'm promoted to exterior and interior modding. I'm doing interior modding at TR. I don't think that I have the skill of some exterior modders.
I'm here for 1 year.
This was the best I've ever seen for MW. And I wanted to be creative. You know, use my mind to create stuff.
I do actually nothing at this moment for TR. (I do some not TR related modding also).

The optional ones:
I think it will last a very long time before the MW section is complete.
It's going a bit slow to me, but I think the pace can't go much faster, unless you want less quality.
I don't have a specific place in my mind, but i like the grazeland and ascadian isles based regions.
Not much, a bit studying and going in the weekends to my GF.
I have become again a part time student and I do also volanteer work.
I don't have much history here. I have done many claims. It took some time before I was promoted ,so I decided to stalk TF :) until I became a modder.
The best of TR is the quality of this mod and its sexyness.

The Gooch:
I am an interior and Quest maker for Oblivion, though i do have morrowind and hope to get into that sometime soon.

Ive been with the mod for nearly 5 months (wow its been that long).

Im working on a quagmire(map 10) Interior (ooh spooky stuff that) its a ayelied ruin (can never spell that right) maze like and fairly large with spooky tings, its gonna be niiiiiicccce.

My main project is on Map9 finishing off a misc quest i made. not too much to go. also adding AI and dialogue to map9 aswell. by the end of the month i hope to have finished my work on map 9.

i was drawn to TR because of the shear awesomesauceness of that kind of project, i do like a bit of a challenge and i wanted to enhance my skills at modding. I was actually looking for Total conversion mods and found really big landmass mods, and found TR.

I think for TR to be better they need to make me admin or something coz im just totally made of rocketsauce. yes beelzebub i own you. check this riff its f^cking tasty.
Im the devil i can do what i want, whatever i got im gonna flaunt. though kage can stay where he is... no hot demon gel for him *shudders*

hopefully soon we can release some map9 to the public. so i can show them my awesomesauce quest. (though the one thats going to be teh most awesomesauce is teh one in design)

for a world project, theres a lot of people that know of the projects my brother is in. (hes in london) hes a musician that play some tech synth stuff, and also the amount of people who are into the same music i am.

I attend University in my hometown (look at my location).
also racing go karts and player warhammer 40k + fantasy.
theviking and MowSkwoz have it in theirs... soo: "We need quest designers!" - Stolen From teh Cutness.

I, Andres Indoril the Lazy, work for the Morrowind side of the project by making silly interiors and being lazy.

My presence in the project has lasted about one fifth of a decade and I have been mightily lazy that time.

I found my path to the Tamriel Rebuilt project of supreme moddingness through the official Elder Scrolls site.

Currently I am working on many lazinessness tasks, such as being lazy and idling on IRC.

My hopes for the Tamriel Rebuilt project are mighty. It would be nice to see the quested versions of all the maps, bwahahahaha!

My current vision above the current management of Tamriel Rebuilt is that Haplo sucks

When not modding, I am being lazy. And my real life occupation is laziness too.

When I joined and made my first post, Zephyr misspelled my name. Then Stalker bitched at me. Or was it in the other order.... I also remember when Jale said that his penis is going to petrol bomb my house. I still live in that fear. Later on, I spammed the IRC channel with Thrignar Fraxix, before his promotions and mind drainage. I also stepped in a pornographic conversation between a large amount of old-timers on the IRC channel once, but that was before I used anything which would capture logs. Also, I once cut off Thriggies ASCII penis, fools! My interaction with the modders and core has been positive mostly. But Nanu sucks Haplo and he returns the favor. Oh well, let's just hope they do their jobs. :P

My favourite thing about TR is Lady Nerevar... Or was it? :o
Perhaps it was some of the maps instead. Perhaps it was Hlersis of map 2? Perhaps I am talking scribshit anyways? Perhaps I am awesome? Perhaps not? Well, screw that, bai bai!

I am theviking, a name which I used all over the net for a very long time. The reason? I look like a viking, like to drink beer and to swing an axe. But now back to TR. The first time when I begun tracking the site was when I finished oblivion, thought that was very lame and went back to morrowind. I played out morrowind much earlier than that, so I began looking for big mods. This was the first I saw and I was immediately hooked.
Then comes the time that you want to help the project, so I made a little interior, received a big error report from TF (I was still a terrible noob back then) and got promoted within a few days. Not a lot of people knew that I began with the reviewers test as well since I've received that error report from TF. Reviewing became my priority together with making interiors.
Then TF asked me to review the interiors from map2. Firstly, I was told that I only had to review a small amount of them. In the end this meaned that I reviewed almost all of them at one point. It's very cool that I will be able through map2 and see that I changed most of the interiors. Since I had a taste of that greatness, I became a progressifyer. I sent detailing claim 5 to finished pretty quick, made the entire interior of Ayemar, etc.
Groza528 started the next phase. He pm'd me that quest reviewing was at a total low point and it has been my concern eversince. That led to my election as quest moderator and eventually I think the release of beta 2.0 of Telvannis. (Although my duty mainly was to organise quest reviewing, I'd been nowhere without my team.) Now I'm working on the dialogue of detailing claim 1, making fort Wavemoth and the Moth and Fire (a tavern in Necrom) and quest paperwork.

The optional questions:
I hope TR stays as it is and spews out awesomecause for years to come.
I think TR's management is teh very good indeed!
My favourite area is Kemel-Ze, Hall of Lzigat. If you fall from the bridge you fall for a minute. (Which off course I worked on as well) I also love Hemitheon's new pocket realm.
I try to work on my thesis for archaeology, but with threads like this it's difficult, :)
I am a true archaeologist and partime postman.
My favourite thing about TR is that there always is a new challenge and you can keep improving your creativity.

I hope you had as much pleasure reading as I had writing(which means verry little pleasure, lol)
Interiors: 25
Reviews: more then 250!
Quest Reviews: 3
NPC claims: 2

Currently looking for quest designers.

I, like, have, like, both. But I have Morrowind more than I have Oblivion. Can you believe I have five Morrowinds? Yup. GotY (English), GotY (French), Collector, Standard, and the last was a free bonus in a magazine. For Oblivion, I haven't bought multiple versions of the same game.
Lady Nerevar wrote: What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)
I made a couple of crappy ints, a couple of crappy books, a few reviews, and nothing ever since. Cool, uh? I know I'm awesome.
Lady Nerevar wrote:How long have you been with the mod?
Far too long. Shit, 2005. I was, like, young.
Lady Nerevar wrote: What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
I don't remember. Alzheimer or something. Shit, 2005. It is, like, old.
Lady Nerevar wrote:What are you working on right now?
I'm lazing away on messageboards while waiting for my next lesson to begin.
Lady Nerevar wrote:What are your hopes for TR’s future?
That the next Morrowind maps will take less time for release. And that the Oblivion maps will work okay no matter of where in the load order the mod is. Oblivion is seriously fucked-up for big landmass mod in this respect, with VWD things disappearing if all the mods are not the first at the same time. What did the Beth boy smoke?
Lady Nerevar wrote:What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Dunno. It's moving forward, I guess. Well, mostly forward.
Lady Nerevar wrote:What is your favorite area of the maps?
Shit, there's, what, 10 maps now? I'm not going to visit them all and list all the cool places just to answer a question.

Oh, my claim is granted. Okay, bye!

Nemon: I mod for both Morrowind and Oblivion, and my favourite part is creating exteriors for TR. I joined the project in october 2003, after reading about it on the ESF, and I believe my postcount per year is pathetic :).
I find the vision of Tamriel Rebuilt inspiring, throughout time we've strived to create worlds as if Bethesda did it, often surpassing our professional inspirators. I'll probably stick with TR for quite some time, creating mostly exteriors I guess. The best part of TR is reading Sload's replies to stupid questions :)

I split my attention between the Morrowind and Oblivion side of the project. In Morrowind I'm mostly throwing around a few ideas and making interiors, while in Oblivion I'm mostly throwing around ideas and drawing concept art. (Well, I do it once in a while...) I am also interested in spreading into the Exterior, Literature, Quest/NPC and Oblivion Interior/Exterior areas of the mod, though that will probably take a while and I've already been here since... 19 May 2006.

Anyway, I originally joined TR because I was impressed by the goal of the mod, by the cities and because it seemed like a good way to hone my skills. Also, a TR interior always helps to get me back into modding shape after a break from Morrowind. At the moment I'm actually working on an Interior; a guard tower made using the infamous Indoril set which is proving rather troublesome. When not on TR I'm either going to school, keeping myself alive or learning about the Oblivion CS. I'm satisfied with the progress TR is making and, though I hope that I will eventually be able to visit Hammerfell or travel from one end of Morrowind to the other, wouldn't really mind if the development continued until the world blows up.

Elfane - When I looked through some forums and sites for good mods for MW I stumbled upon TR was amazed and forgot about it. About a year later or something like that I bought OB and I went online to get some good mods. Found TR again and was even more amazed, Hammerfell. The vision enthralled me. But what really made me stay and join was the CA of Lutemoth. Just cant help to love his drawing style and ingenious ideas. So I decided to join and give a hand or two. That was in the begining of 2007.

What I do is to draw concept crap for TR and is currently working on 2 secret projects and random stuff that needs a concept.

My hopes for TR's future is that it at some point will have a ridable camel.
My favorite area of the TR maps must be anywhere you can ride a camel.
When I'm not drawing something for TR I am probably drawing for something else. To get some money I work as a dancer and a dance teacher. But also as an illustrator.
All fun stuff but the best is to spend time with my daughter and girlfriend. Oh yeah, that is the reason why I aint a CA machine anymore.

Thats about it, but dont forget; No camels, no Elfane!
Thrignar-Fraxix - elfane, is a CA machine

Flawed Spirit here. I usually spend time modding Morrowind, both for TR and for fun, but I occasionally mod Oblivion for fun. I've been with the project for about a week or so, but I hope to be here a lot longer. I found out about TR... oh God like a year ago. As a matter of fact, I learned a lot about using the CS from the tutorials on this site. Don't remember where I found out about it though. I figured since I make a whole bunch of useless mods that pack my Morrowind\Data Files folder full, I may as well do something useful that puts my work out there for thousands.

My one hope for TR is that it eventually becomes Tamriel Truly Rebuilt. One problem with this is that there will be so much, it would take hundreds of thousands of hours (if not millions) to see it all, do it all!

Daedren:
- I essentially mod for Morrowind, the game of my heart. I occasionally mod for oblivion too, but I think it's not the same, so I prefer Morrowind and its building pieces :)
- At the time, I'm working on interiors, an area where I am more experienced. Though, I think someday I'll try some of the others... I want to learn a bit more of CS concerning exteriors, questing and dialog. But for now, I'm really happy to help creating interiors!
- Well, I am quite new to the position of modder... I have been promoted in March 09. But I knew TR 2 years ago.
- I found TR when I was searching for some mods to add to Morrowind. In that time, I really used many mods, and suddenly I came across Tamriel Rebuilt and I thought: "Wow...! I want to see this finished!" Since then, I have been eagerly waiting for news of progress, releases, etc. In 2006 I joined TR forums, and now, here I am :D
- Right now I'm not working on an interior for TR. I'm modding a telvanni tower as a personal mod, trying to develop some more skills. But I think it won't last long until I claim another one!

- I hope TR maintains or develops even more it's quality work, cause, really, it's the best mod I've ever seen for an Elder Scrolls game! I hope it to continue attending to lore (I'm a bit purist now... ;) Now I only use official mods and TR mods) and I really hope to see the maps finished (especially for morrowind).
- I think that currently the project is going very well, and I really hope it to continue running like now...
- This is a difficult question. I admit that I haven't had time to run across all the areas of the map, but there are some places I really like. I'm a lover of the Telvanni, and I love map 1 and 2 Telvanni cities. Port Telvannis is gorgeous! The first time I visited the city (in the first public release), I could not speak. Then I saw Necrom and I thought "Wow, can't wait for this!". But then, I came across Almalexia. I was in love. My favourite architectures are indoril and telvanni, so I have Port Telvannis and Almalexia as beautiful and amazing cities. I really loved them! Of course, there are more places, like Alt Bosara.
- When I'm not modding, I like to read some books, listen to music, and continue a book I'm writing (in Portuguese...).
- Right now, I'm a student. In 2009 I'll go to the University.
- Before I actually joined the forums, I didn't have any kind of contact with TR members. Only when I applied for interiors, in the showcase forums, I interacted with TR team. Many thanks to TheGooch and Thrignar Fraxix, who helped me with my last attempt in my showcase.
- My favourite thing about TR is its rigorous rules. When they are allied to the main objectives - quality, lore friendship - this actually becomes a true project, not a fool's attempt to make something that it's not going to do well. I love this aspect of TR. The project has actually an organization inside the team, and everyone tries to follow the rules, in order to create something funny and entertaining, but at the same time good and with quality.

I'm really proud of being part of such a wonderful team... and of being contributing for such a wonderful project.

Swiftoak Woodwarrior:

What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)
Morrowind is my primary game to mod, but I recently got Oblivion, and I may work on Oblivion as well in the future.

What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)
Mainly Exteriors, Interiors, NPCs. Dialogue writing and concept art I also do, but not too much. I also do occasional reviews, you know, quality testing, making sure junk doesn't end up in the final mod.

How long have you been with the mod?
3 Years, and I hope to add many more!

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
What drew me to TR? I originally wanted to play a Morrowind landmass mod, but realizing the work was not complete, I felt compelled to help out.

What are you working on right now?
Rebuilding the wonderful City of Necrom for Map 2, keep an eye out for that! I've also done a good bit of landscape detailing and filler interiors for sections of Map 2, and I'm also writing dialogue and creating NPCs for the city of Alt'Bosara and its surroundings. So yeah most of my work is on Map 2 at the moment. :P

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
I hope we can increase progress on an exponential rate, and see the mod completed in my lifetime! :P I also want a updated look to the website, because change would be nice!

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Excellent management. The core is very knowledgable, and I'm very happy to work under them.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
Map 2. Hopefully that will change as we work on improving the other maps.

What do you do when not modding?
School work, working on writing and art. Graphic desigining, going outside, usual teenager stuff.

What is your real life occupation?
I am a student, working part time jobs at random places when I can. Not alot of work up here where I am though.

Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
Well I love the core. When I first joined, I admit I was a bit ignorant, and I sometimes annoyed the core, but that's all behind now. I love every single modder here.

What is your favorite thing about TR?
The modders! The sheer amount of effort being put here to create so much win for a 6 year old game.

Sorry I couldn't do it in a fancy paragraph. :P

I like Swift's format, and intend to steal it. Feel free to chop out the headings to get some kind of paragraph construct.

What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)
Morrowind only. I hate Oblivion the game with a passion, and its CS almost as much. :P I am damn envious of the AI, though. Oh, and animations and the ability to sit in chairs. Them too.

What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)
I am primarily a quest man, as well as an NPC maker/dialoguer. I played a rather large role in the fixing and preparing of the latest TR quested release, if I do say so myself. :P

I also have a minor role as a forum moderator for our Hints, Guides and Spoilers section. Sadly there are very few questions, so really this is nothing special. Of course, I'd be worried if there were more questions. :P

How long have you been with the mod?
A year and a bit.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
I found out about TR via the New Year's Day release thread on the BGSF. I remember Lud was very helpful, and I was intrigued. I came over here, saw some of the screenshots in the gallery (particularly Maps 2 and 4) and was hooked. I joined up about a month later.

What are you working on right now?
Helnim, Helnim, Helnim, Marog, Kemel-Ze. In that order. Creating NPCs and dialogue to LGNPC standards. This is no mean feat. :)

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
To see the Dres faction made real. Do that, and I'll be a happy crab.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Progress is impressive, and has increased a lot from when I first arrived (from a questing perspective).

The management are lovely, and most of 'em have put up with an infuriating barrage of questions from me at some point or another, for which I thank them.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
Maps 2, 3 and 4, because those are the only ones I've looked at outside of Map 1. I have to restrain myself from laughing out loud every time I hear someone compliment Map 1. :P And they keep on getting better, too.

What do you do when not modding?
When not modding, my main interest is life.

Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
Everyone's a legend who works here. Certainly all the questers. :P Starcrunch, Lud, Groza, and Viking have all been of great help to motivating me and getting things moving at various stages of my TR time. And where would the latest Map 1 release be without those fabulous testers, Osiris, Jenna and Theo!

What is your favorite thing about TR?
TR.

I too am sorry I couldn't do it in a fancy paragraph.

can see the world outside

What game do you mod?

I primarily mod for Morrowind, because it's the game that interests me more. I may attempt some Oblivion stuff down the line sometime.

What area of TR do you work on?

Interiors mainly. And the odd bit of literature (if you can cal it that). I find them to be the least 'technical' elements of the mod.

How long have you been with the mod?

I became a modder in August 2007, so seven months and a bit. When I joined I had no modding experience whatsoever, but I was careful to read the FAQs and use the excellent tutorials provided to develop some skills.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?

I don't remember how I found out about the project, it may have been from a link on wikipedia. It was the cool screenshots that attracted me if i'm honest.

What are you working on right now?

Right now i'm working on the Mages' Guild of a Redoran city. It's one of the largest interiors i've made so far, and my first go at the Redoran tileset.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?

I'm struck by the very high standards to which modders are held. It can be intimidating, especially at first, but it pays dividends in terms of the quality of work achieved.

What is your favorite area of the maps?

Of what's been released so far, I really like Gah Sadrith. But I like the new Hlaalu towns that are in the pipeline, because it's my favourite architectural set.

What do you do when not modding?

As a graduate who's moved back in with his parents, very little. I'm more or less attached to my PC, although being British I spend a lot of time in the pub, occasionally plugging the mod to my disinterested drinking companions.

What is your real life occupation?

I work in a small military museum, and i'm hoping to go back to university in September to get some more letters after my name.

What is your favorite thing about TR?

It's a challenge. I think almost every interior i've worked on has thrown up a problem or stumbling block at some point, and it's fun to figure out workarounds.

K, time for some polishing.

What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)
When I was looking for promotion, TR wasn't looking for Morrowind modellers. So I started with oblivion, even though I didn't had a PC good enough for it on that time. Recently, I gave myself a chance to get back to the roots and work hard on the Morrowind part.

What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature) Nif files, dds files, OoT, TR_Data (though Haplo's merging that one), checking for new versions of niskope, lot of things :)

How long have you been with the mod? I registered february 2007. Though, I wasn't really looking for promotion on that day. I started a showcase 2 months later and got promoted just after showing my skills and then making a hammerfell related mesh. I was shocked that I really have the needed skills :) That's why anyone shouldn't be ashamed of his work and try by himself.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
Uh, seriously I can't recall anymore. The idea and belief that it really can be done is very magnetic.

What are you working on right now?
Necrom exterior meshes. I want the players to see a really amazing city in the east part of Morrowind. I always loved the idea of Necrom. Even when I didn't know that Tamriel Rebuilt exists!

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
Constant progress on all areas.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.? Oh, I really love myself.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
I didn't even seen the half of it yet! I can tell you one thing. Running through goldmoor isn't even desribeable. It's astonishing.

What do you do when not modding?
Gigs, concerts, music, working for a radio, friends, girls, books, pnp RPGs, cinema, F1, personal growth. And I'm studying physics at a University. Sometimes I even find the time to get some sleep :D I rarely play some games to stress out too. Recently I'm in love with Juiced and one of my favourites are the ones from the Total War series. Morrowind is nice too.

Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
Before I logged into IRC I thought that Lady Nerevar is arrogant and Andres wasn't lazy because he didn't exist. Oh, and always listen to Sload carefully and open your mind first.

What is your favorite thing about TR?The administration forums is a sexy spot :)

Harke the Apostle:

I joined TR almost two years ago, when Hammerfell wasn’t nearly as fleshed out as it is today. I got promoted for Literature and Writing, and I’ve been writing and reviewing texts ever since.
At the moment I’m writing a spy report for one of the biggest interior claims TR has; Old Ebonheart Castle.

Although I wasn’t promoted for Lore, I’ve been known to partake in most Hammerfell discussions (and I’ve done an aweful lot of reading up on the subject).

This January I also got promoted for Morrowind interiors. I’m doing a tavern in Necrom, that uses TR’s own brand-new Necrom interior set. It’s the best interior modding experience I’ve had so far.

What drew me to TR? Destiny! I had a date with her and she stood me up. As a budding modder, I quickly found TR’s tutorial and utility pages. The rest is history.

What I like most about TR is the Lore and the sheer scale of the project, and the mutual cooperation of the TR modders.

Oh yeah. I also moonlight in the Concept Art department…

What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)
Morrowind. Oblivion doesn't run on my computer. Moreover I have spent much time modding for Morrowind before Oblivion came out and now I want to make sure that all efforts spent on Morrowind project will come to some decent end. (Finishing of morrowind province).

What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)
I tried to do some interiors, but I suck on them and there is enough competent modders in this area. I am better on exteriors, but mainly I fix and detail somebody else's work. I did also few quests and NPC's, but my grammar sucked, so now I just help with reviewing them. So let's say unofficial exterior/quest reviewer and shit-fixer?

How long have you been with the mod?
Since 2005 at least.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
From Morrowind dedicated fan website. I was just at Erasmus in Leeds and I had NOTHING to do there :D

What are you working on right now?
I am doing all that needs to be done at map 1. Fixing, detailing, adding some encounters to its dull points. Right now I am the map 1 master :D

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
Except finishing whole Morrowind with a mainquest? I will be happy if the archeaological questilne at Kemel-Ze will be as good as I hope it will.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
I don't care much for management of the mod anymore and do not visit administration forums, even if I could. But that only means the management works fine. I would have to take care of it, if it didn't work and that would distract me from modding. This sometimes happened, when TR was more open for all kinds of morons. (Now there are no members spamming the forums and making discontent).

What is your favorite area of the maps?
Map 1 - Telvanni Isles
Map 2 - Alt Bosara, Dragon Glade, Kemel-Ze and southernmost tip of Boethian mountains I made :)
Map 3 - Gorne and ... OMG Almalexia and Old Ebonheart castle!
Maps 4,5,6 have some gorgeous area, but some that suck. Those will have to be detailed.

What do you do when not modding?
I am a PhD student of logic.

Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
That would be a long story. I don't want to insult anybody by not naming him, but Lud, Groza, TheViking, Bloodthirsty Crutascean, Starcrunchm Osiris and JennaK did great work on map 1 recently.

What is your favorite thing about TR?
It is for free so nobody can complain that much for quality and speed of my work :)

El Scum (the Claim, Then Abandon guy)

What game do you mod?
Both Morrowind and Oblivion.

What area of TR do you work on?
Concept art, interiors, dialogue & NPCs (occasionaly), and lately got into modeling.

How long have you been with the mod?
3 years!

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
I found about the project in the "Links" section of planetelderscrolls (it wasn't planetelderscrolls at that time, but anyway). TR was actually the first large, organised, team-based modding project I saw, and the features of the main page (screenies, concept art etc) was all I needed to hit the Join link.

What are you working on right now?
I'm modeling a modular set of docks for the Oblivion side of TR (for the Hammerfell province) and at the same time I search for ways to improve the Upper Class house concepts before they get to the modelling forge.

What are your hopes for TR’s future?
Achieving our goals and winning another "Best RPG Mod Of The Year" award. Global Domination comes after that.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Considering the mess that has been taken care of, all I can say is that the people in charge have big "cojones". Period.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
The one I haven't explored yet :P

What do you do when not modding?
Going out, clubbing as much as I can before my hair goes grey, modeling and sketching.

What is your real life occupation?
I've graduated from economics science (call it accountance) but last year I decided I hate it, so I'm now studying 3D&Multimedia.

Talk about personal history at TR and interaction with people, core and modders both.
Well, what can I say? I like it here! I received lots of help when I first started (didn't know a thing about Morrowind's editor back then) and most members know how to offer constructive criticism.
Most important for me is the fact that TR gave me the spark to begin drawing again, since I had given up on that hobby until I got here, and later made me realise how much I wanted to get into 3D and digital visual arts.

What is your favorite thing about TR?
Seeing the progress that's been made.

I am morrowind modder, wtih a focus on interiors. I am a very new to the project (less then one week now...), but I plan on sticking around for a while. I had heard rumors about TR before, and I visited the site shorlty before the first beta release. I wasn't really a dedicated modder then. I had picked up a few things but hadn't set myself to any long term projects. I started to try and build a big mod, from scratch, by myself, and quickly discovered how hard and time consuming it is. My appreciation for modders everywhere soared and I became dedicated to giving back to the community there after(hence why I joined TR).

My hopes for TR in the future it that is will continue to build and expand, in both morrowind and oblivion, until it is truly "Tamriel Rebuilt". I would love to build the Glass Tower in the Summerset Isles or great tree mansions in Valenwood. When I am not modding I go to school (I'm a junior in highschool) and spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. Right now I am working on my first claim (a well defended bandit cave in map 3), and it is coming along well. Hopefully I'll be finished within the next few upcoming days :D

I have little history as of now with the other members of TR, but there is plenty of time to develop that. So far everyone has been very helpfull and excepting, and I feel confident my experiences here will upgrade my skills to the next level :) This is easily the largest and best organized project I have come across, and I am optimistic about the future.

I am far too much of a Luddite to even try to develop my modding skills, so I stick to the art side of both games development. Although it has predominantly been Oblivion. And by art, I mean I am solely a concept artist.

Shockingly, I have been with the mod for 2 years now, on and off, with 2 month hiatus' now and then. I was drawn to TR, by firstly searching Morrowind mods, and then secondly a WSG(Weekly Sketch Group). Those two added up, to make me very much involved. And I am currently doing sod all. I am however expanding my knowledge of lore, so as to be more effective in development of ideas. Ask Andres how difficult it is being lazy....

I would like to see TR's work come out looking as if it were a scene taken from one of the many books of the series. A perfect visualisation of it, and yet for it to maintain it's fun. I definitely can't wait to see the finished product, but I know we are a way off.

TR at the moment, is floundering, at least in the art department, unfortunately. And there aren't many people who can keep it afloat. I know I would get complacent easily, and I have varying business' of life to deal with. So until our excellent, but drained moderator returns (hopefully de-bleary-eyed, and ready to deal with the pressures of upkeep), we do well developing on our own ideas in the FCG's (Focused Concept Group).

Finally, as I said, I have been here for a while... I have had many interesting experiences, most of which were social experiences, notably a primary part of TR; no matter what department you are in, all parts of the team gel in a socially. Luckily, they also gel ergonomically, otherwise it would be all chat and no work, and TR has had plenty of slave-drivers in the past.

And please take into account how strange the phrase 'social experiences' is. Could mean anything.....

That may be true about the art department, but it's more of a personal gripe, and not something you write in a public blog. You could also help get it going again being the artist that you are ;)

I mod for Morrowind. Cant mod for Oblivion as there are too many Morrowind claims left. And i like Morrowind more. I'm working on interiors, reviews and i made few exteriors in the beginning. But mostly interiors. When did i join? Hmmm… let me see…Ah, in may 2007, almost a year ago. Time fly when you are having fun. I found about TR on PES, while searching for new mods. And then i found TR: Map 1. It was amazing work, i just had to see more. I followed the link to TR forums, looked at some screens, and i just had to join. I submitted one of my personal works and few days later got promoted.
Now i'm working on some redoran interiors, mostly simple houses. The redoran set is a nice change from all those Indoril claims.
What do i think about TR? Great team and amazing work.
My favorite area? Stonfalls. That town is just amazing, and built with Hlallu set which is one of my favorites. I cant wait to see it in game. I think ill move there.
When not modding i'm not doing very much, sleeping mostly, and working. I work in a small private firm as a surveyor. For those who don't know what a surveyor is, in simplest way i make maps. Not a very exciting job, but hey, it is a job.
And the best part of TR… i dunno, everything is great.

Or people read it and think,

"I'd like to help..."

That's the main reason I did that. The artists that I am, is pretty bored with this anyway, I just thought I'd drum up some attention for the art section, and see if the public were interested.

And I think it is what i would put on a public blog when asked this question:

"What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.? "

Why bother lying when not only may the truth make someone enthusiatic come in a try to change it, but when if I don't say it, they may come on false pretences and not want to stay involved. Becuase the latter is what has been happening thus far.

And I might ahve been the person to get it going again a year and a half ago, when I was enthusiatic. But this was obviously a lame attempt at getting people interested.

ill put it in. i believe that lying to people is not cool at all, and it may encourage people to join. ill probably phrase it as such:
[In my opinion] TR at the moment, is floundering, at least in the art department, unfortunately
that way its there but its obviously his opinion. i somewhat agree that we are lacking in that department, but the activity is picking up.

I didn't mention anything about lying. It's just good PR avoid making a billboard out of your project's failings. Even just the phrase "TR at the moment, is floundering" can be taken out of context where it becomes woefully inaccurate. Its a phrase that sticks.

We're in the process of dealing with our missing CA leader. If things start picking up soon it becomes a contradiction to whoever reads it.

I don't mean to make this into a big issue. It's just another subtlety of presenting your mod to a wider community.

Joopson: In My spare time, I tend to mod Morrowind simply because of ease. Its always alot of trouble for me to try to bring objects into Oblivion. I work in the OoT area where i model anything that is needed. I just started this mod in July, but I didn't start modding right away though.

I had gotten very interested in 3D modeling when i turned 14, and from there i found morrowind. of course, soon after, i discovered about modding. i didn't start modding until i joined here, after discovering a link to it on a now unknown site (i forgot which one ;)) and i found this project to look very promising.

right now i am working on the Rihad statue.

When i am not modding, i am probably with my friends at the mall (Cliche, i know) or 3D modeling for my portfolio over at Joopsontoons.com
I'm only 16, so no Job yet, but i certainly want one.
I love TR's great community. these people are really great.

It's a bit late, but whatever.

I've been at TR for just a bit longer than a year now, and I mostly do 3d modelling and texturing, but my progress is pretty slow since a few months. I finished about 4,7 models. From time to time I also upload a CA pic but that mostly doesn't lead to anything usable.

I completely forgot how I found out about TR, it most likely happened when I was searching for some nice Morrowind mods. Currently I'm working on a plant.(Don't laugh)

The thing I like most about TR is that, with the right attitude, you're able to learn so much. I learnt how to speak English a bit more decent(since they dont speak english where I live that came in handy), and my modelling/texturing got way better.

My real life occupation is supposed to be school, but when I'm trying to study that almost always means idling at IRC. At school I keep myself bussy with doodling my books, and listening to a teacher or music.

My personal interaction with TR has been pleasant, The core people and everyone in common have incredible patience and kindness.

I'll give this a go.

What game do you mod? (MW/OB/Both)
I mod for Morrowind but would like to later mod for Oblivion.

What area of TR do you work on? (eg. Interiors, Exteriors, literature)
I mainly make interiors and exteriors. I'm also one of TR's fussy interior reviewers. I also occasionally write some really bad literature for TR, for example "A Most Unfortunate Party".

How long have you been with the mod?
I've been a member at TR for over four years, and have pretty much consistently logged every day during that time. I also lurked for a long while before then. That said, I wasn't really doing anything here until about two years ago. As far as I know, after Haplo I'm the oldest active member here.

What drew you to TR? How did you find out about TR?
I had kinda seen TR stuff around the place and kinda was interested, but it was the screenshots of Prometheus' Narsis that really lured me here. I also really took to the ambition of the mod (making the entire Morrowind province) as well as its stance on respecting the world Bethesda had created (such as following lore).

What are you working on right now?
I am currently modding the exterior for Kragenmoor and a couple of interiors in Kogotel.

Optional:
What are your hopes for TR’s future?
I really hope that one day Morrowind province is finished. As a closer, more realistic goal, to have some of my work (beyond the odd interior) released to the general public in one of the later maps.

What do you think of TR’s current progress/management/mod/etc.?
Everything's good at the moment.

What is your favorite area of the maps?
It's hard to say really. I suppose in general I just like the wilderness and back-country, and the normal inhabited and uninhabited interiors. What really lured me to Morrowind in the first place was the wide-open world, not the cities or the quests or any particular features. I suppose my tastes are pretty dull.

But if I had to choose a favourite place, it would have to be the city of Almalexia. Some of the old-time modders like Hermit really worked wonders there. Interior-wise, the dwarven ruin of Kemel-Ze takes the cake. Of what I've modded, I like the exterior of the Isle of Gorne most, as well as the interior for the Ordinators' Complex in Almalexia.
