Almalexia, Sarethan Quarter (21,-28 ): Great House Embassy

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3063/embassymc8.jpg

1 Floor for each Great House, except Dagoth. Preferably the stairwell will run along the edge of the interior, so that each embassy won't be interrupted by the flow of traffic to and from other floors. Basement for storage. You can partition it into a few sections to represent each embassy's "storage section", if you like.

Windows are the same all the way around. Entrance faces northeast.

As far as Map 3 goes, this is high priority. It's also big and fun and new! (Unlocked message)

Claiming.

1st floor Hlaalu
2nd floor Redoran
3rd floor Telvanni
4th floor Dres

Rooms are 3*3 plus the staircase

Is this good?

Probably could stand to be a little bigger. That little building next to it is 3*3, so you could make it total 5*5 or even 6*6 total, including stairwell.

I might be grossly misjudging the size of the building from the screenshot, but that looks about 8 storeys and, perhaps, about 8 x 8 tiles. While you could space the rooms out horizontally and vertically, people playing might notice if the interior was smaller than it looks.

And what about House indoril, or isn't that needed?

don't forget a grand entrance hall, a council chamber, perhaps a floor devoted to the minor houses.

Is this the Council Hall? I've never come across a Council Hall in Almalexia before. Is this it?

No, the council hall is elsewhere. Up in the north-east corner nestled against some mountains if I remember rightly.

Granting under the assumption that the correct size will be found and used.

If you don't want this anymore Peterboy then just say so and I will revoke it (since it appears that this is much larger than you thought it was)

I still it, but then please decide the concrete size.

The building has markedly four floors, and House Indoril why would have an ambassador in Her main city? And ofcourse a basement...

Each embassy will have it's own House specific style + color + atmosphere. Like REdoran wil have trama roots, and ash rocks for decorations, Telvanni will have shrooms etc

So what's the size? :D

Hi, this is your administrator speaking. 6x6, with one story for each great house, as it says in the description. If need be I can make it shorter(I probably will). You can have one extra floor, an entrance level, which can be a lobby controlled by Great House Indoril so they have a chance to be part of the building.

So, from the top floor down:

Attic, can be used or in disarray
Dres
Telvanni
Redoran
Hlaalu
Lobby/front desk area controlled by Indoril
Basement

I will shorten the exterior as needed.

Ok it's a 6x6. The rest is filled up entirely with brick which the divine Almalexia has made weightless.

We have too many interiors in Almalexia that are the size of Texas. Players won't think about how it's 6x6 tiles, nor will they think "it should have been 8x8, this interior is just too small". It's a big building, support beams take space.

Can I add new meshes? Like MH planter filled with ashes, a none moving Hlaalu banner?

There are ways around using a new ash pit mesh. Use a regular ashpit with TR_ex_ind_grate I think. If you need an example, look at the Temple in Gorne Village in Map3.

As for a banner, why would you need a Hlaalu banner if not all 5 Houses have banners?

Not all House have a Banner? :S All of the has one, maybe Indoril hasn't got a guar banner, but the other ones yes... Just the one for House Hlaalu is only for exterior, and it is moving...

And thank you for the ashpit idea! :)

The banner will only actually 'move' in-game if it has the script 'OutsideBanner' attached. Otherwise, despite how it looks in the CS, it remains static. (If I'm thinking of the right banner, and not one like the Vivec canton ones)

If you create any new entries in the CS(such as modifying a mesh), just make sure you make their ID has this prefix: TR_m3-612_

One last thing. Beware of putting junk near it. Usually, it acts funny and won't let you activate or pick stuff up in is vicinity. Had a similar problem in Dres Manor in Necrom.

I have measured this claim and my conclusion is: 7*7 floor (except for the top maybe) and it has 11 floors minus the basement. Hemi's size is not bad either and requires less work.
By the way are the councillers going to accept that their building is next to a prison complex (i3-186-ind)?

People seeking refugee in an embassy are often carted off to a prison, so I would say the location is excellent. It's also nice to have an embassy nearby when you escape from prison.

Peterboy - It's relatively high priority. As long as you work quickly once you start it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm doing this.
It will start with a floor for house indoril and then a floor for house dres, hlaalu, redoran and telvanni on the top.
I'll use the Gez style for the stairs and floors; leaving some space between the floors.

Can some check this? It lists the texts I want to make.

I have 5 personalities in my mind for the 5 ambassadors

Indoril ambassador is a drunk. He drinks every alcohol, but he's sometimes not drunk.
Dres ambassador is a harsh, quite cruel mer. He has a secret love affair, but he's married with another.
Hlaalu ambassasor is really por-imperial and he has some parties at his embassy. He has just enough money to survive.
Redoran ambassador is a nice guy. He's always trying to negotiate and doesn't like to be harsh. Some will say he's too soft.
telvanni ambassador is always complaining about everything. He tries to study divine magic, but he fails to understand it. Perhaps he can give the player some quests of finding some books. His motive is to become very powerful and divine.
He also has taken interest in enchanting and alchemy and is fairly good in those skills.

Which silverware pieces am I allowed to use for the Hlaalu?

I guess it's time for a Redoran and Hlaalu bookcover. As for your placeholders, can you put actual names in it, even if they are fake. Imagine a player reading one of them with names like Lord Blahblah like TR did with the Dres book.

Are there not already Redoran, Hlaalu, and Telvanni books in the vanilla game? The reason we created Dres and Indoril books is because there weren't any.
