Where do you live?

Post by theviking »

Since we are an international community, I thought it would be fun to let others see where you live. And, to do it in the internet style by using google maps! (or google earth) I live here: http://maps.google.nl/maps?hl=nl&ie=UTF8&ll=52.161455,4.496874&spn=0.001665,0.004807&t=k&z=18

Where do you live?

EDIT: For this to work, please center your picture on your house like I did. and then press "link" at the top right of your map, very important.

It's grown on me since I moved here in September. And I can see the Tigers stadium from my window, which is cool.

This is where i'm originally from, and where I still spend the rest of my time.

The center of the image is my house. I live in Edam, Netherlands, so next time you are in your local supermarket, walk to the cheese section and see if you can locate the Edam Cheese. Then you can say, this cheese comes from the small city (2007 we had cityrights for 650 years!) where some guy from Tamriel Rebuilt lives.. :P

Oh, and if you zoom out a bit you can see a city a little to the left, wich is where I went to middleschool.

And where I spent most of my teenage years on the streets hanging about smoking weed with my friends.

And if you move 20km to the south, you will have a nice view of the awesome city of Amsterdam. :P

My dad works in Koog aan de Zaan, wich I believe is next to the Zaanse Schans. So, funny coincidence! But this project has something with dutchmen, so small country and so many members here. :P

I live in Portugal.

Oh, and don't say it's a province of Spain! WE ARE NOT. I can remember the time Portugal shared the entire world with Spain, hehe.
It's a little country, but it's a beautiful place. I like to live here ;)

I'm afraid I'm the one who's gonna feel lonely... I don't know of any Portuguese being part of this team, besides me, of course.

I'm Portuguese. If you consider the fact I'm an almost direct descendant of Sir Francis Drake who was English, and it was the English who defeated the Spanish Armada, and that Spain ruled over the province of Portugal and still does to this day. :-P

Nope, no swimming pool for me. :P
And it is true there are a lot of Dutchmen on this site, something like 10-15 I'd guess.

I think it might have something to do with the Dixons that has been putting Morrowind up for sale for 5 euro's for over 3 years now. :P

Portugal is NOT a province of spain! Why do so many people think we are part of spain??
We are a country on our own, not a part of another.

My university (The University of Southern Indiana):

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=University+of+Southern+Indiana&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=36.452734,67.851563&ie=UTF8&ll=37.962657,-87.675941&spn=0.008865,0.016565&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr

The university was built into the woods surrounding it. It's a very pretty campus :).

My hometown (Fairfield, Illinois):
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Fairfield,+IL&sll=37.962657,-87.675941&sspn=0.008865,0.016565&g=University+of+Southern+Indiana&ie=UTF8&ll=38.378672,-88.36514&spn=0.017629,0.033131&t=h&z=15&iwloc=addr

If you look at the East side of Fairfield on that view, you will see that most of the town appears green. That's because there is a shitload of trees over there, and that must have interfered with the satellite taking the image (though that's just my wild-assed guess). Most of that area is residential, and the houses are spaces relatively far apart in some places, so there are a lot of trees still standing here. Most of the property we own is woods, and extends back to the railroad tracks (that dark line that runs parallel to E. King St.). Property values are uber cheap over here. A home that costs you $700,000 in some areas of the country would only cost $50,000 here, and you'd get a small back yard along with it. :P My house is right where E. King St. and SE 8th St. meet. That white smudge is about where our home is, but I doubt that it's our home causing that (our roof is dark- colored). I have no clue what that big dark line is going through our back yard. A creek runs back there, but it's not THAT big.

There appear to be almost as many Wisconsinites on this project as there are Dutchmen.

I'm from Eau Claire.
