Velothi Mountains and Roth Roryn. Please refer to this image:

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b94/ThrignarFraxix/4-41Lined.jpg

On the east side of the pink line should be the Roth Roryn region. On the west side should be the Velothi mountains. You are to remove the river that currently runs through this claim. The purple dotted lines represent the roads. The image of these roads above is just a basic idea though, and you need to make them more interesting. However, it's important that they are at the same points when they cross over into other claims.

Claimer must draw a proposal for the roads in their claim over the image linked above before they will be granted it.

Had trouble with the eastern cells - found it hard to find things to place there. Will add more WG terrain, a velothi tomb and the road to Karthor Dale.

More screens.

A nighttime scene, brightened so you can see it. This looks over the main road.

Another night scene, showing the rocks in the southeast of the claim. You might also see the mine near the top of the picture. The claim stops on the left.

A bloke outside some bloke's shack. The stuff outside shows he collects mushrooms for a living, as well as spearfishing for money and food. I briefly discussed using this in a Redoran smuggling quest.

The bridge over the river, looking up to the mountain. You can see those steps and the cove where locals land their boats.

The steps, the river, the shacks, and the cove. The FOV is cranked so I can fit more into the picture.

I cannot fix up the last few details on this map, unfortunately, because now every time I save it, it drops all terrain data in one of the cells by 1000 units. I have tried again and again and even checked if there were any problems via TESAME, but there are none. Apart from two small issues, this claim is finished. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling morrowind, but to no avail.

Finished! Kingfish has had a look at this already and I fixed up all of the problems - the claim has been cleaned with TESAME.

reviewed, approved and ready to be merged

good job, but of course there were some problems:

-"the road problem" -i'll explain soon, as i'm going to write a tutorial about this
-"the border problem" along south border-same as above, but less important
-few floaters [around the big hole]
-missing vertexshade - only a few places; mainly under those "group-rocks" [as if you detailed already finished cell and forgot to vertex...]

other than that, i really liked it, congrats.

Claiming. I have a few questions and suggestions for the claim which I will explain on the basis of the road map. However, I find that there are way too many ints needed for this claim, and regarding the roads, I'm sorry that I had to change the roadmap a bit due to the dock-stylish path leading up the mountain, whis is really great work, and that's why I want to keep it naturally. I also think that the rest of the roads, except the one in the southwestern corner of the claim, can mainly stay like that with a few adjustments only.

[img]http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/6751/441lined.jpg[/img]

1. A small redoran hut. I would keep this one I also adjusted the path leading up to it on the roadmap.

2. A cave just beside the road. It's alright I guess, but I would be ok if you guys want it smashed.

3. A shack on a big ledge having a good overview of the pass. I want to keep this and would also build up a little path to it.

4. The pass itself; it's called Septim's Gate Pass in map 4 file so it's rather important to keep it I suppose

5. Some redoran hut, which is really unnecessary imo

6. Strange huge and deep hole in the ground, with a corpse at the bottom; it looks a bit crappy, but if you want to have it kept I will do so; you can see it in some of vernon's screenis at the top of the page.

7. Cave entrance: I would keep it there.

8. Some mine entrance, I don't care much about it, so I let you decide.

And could someone please tell me now how I can make BBcode work in claiming messages? I'm sick of editing...

The pass can stay or go so long as the road is in the same spot. The actual pass is at the fort up the road in the next claim.
I don't like that the random pointless interiors are being kept without giving reasons for their existence. If you keep them then make sure they have a point. (i.e. don't add a new road just to get to some random worthless hut, just remove the hut.)

Not granting yet because I want someone else to ponder what you have said.

I would like to keep the pass then.

The new road I was talking about is already existing in the file, so I just thought I would mark it on the map. I can kill everything as I also think most of the ints don't really fit in there, but I'd like to keep the shack. I could also make it some redoran outpost, since I think it really has a good overview and such.

I have a question:

There is some trouble with the road maps in this region I suppose. The map for 4-47 shows a road ending in the south-east of my claim. This road also exists in my file right now. But the map for my claim says there shouldn't be any road in the south-east. The point is, that Cath has already made that road in his claim and I think it is rather pointless to remove the road from my file now, as the detailing claimer will most likely add it again due to matching.

So, should I leave it in my file or remove it?

That was my bad. I'm not entirely sure how I forgot to draw that road there, but looking at my master plan for the roads it should indeed be there.

The land tears are a known CS bug. Nobody has yet been able to track down what causes it. :(

If you look at my 4-29-hla claim you'll see that it pops up all the time. There are some ways to fix it mentioned in that thread as well. I believe the 4-29 claim is in the finished section now. Check it out. :)

Ok I understand the land tears, but the main reason why I'm asking is the terribly raised terrain in the middle that looks a bit like a wall. There is no way to get the land that steep... I was just loading my file, and it was there. I can delete it by using the soften or flatten vertices, but I can't get the terrain as it was before... oh dear. :( but that's no prob, because I make backups every 5 minutes (don't call me stupid, that's due to the disappearance of my showcase file a while ago, remember?). So I can start over again now, using the backup. I was just asking because of my curiousness :) 8)

The "wall" is a land tear as well. :) It is just closed on both sides. If you are backing up every five minutes you shouldn't have any problems reverting to a previous file (which is the best fix for this problem) and you'll only lose five minutes of work. When it happened to me (many times) I lost a day or two's work. :( It's an annoyance to be sure, but there's no way to predict when it will happen or to prevent it.

Ok, I made many backups, about 10 or so(since my last post), but that didn't even help. They are in every file. That makes me crazy!!      always at the same place!

Edit:
(WIP is up, but with land tears) I'm so disheartened...was great work . I think I will try to remove them manually. I can't do that work again nonononononononononnnnnnnnoooooooo................... wrong emoticon groar X( :slavedriver: *mwaha*

You have to revert to a file that was saved before the tears ever started. It's a royal PITA to be sure. Also, are you loading any other files while working on this one? Such as the other files from around your claim? That has caused the tears to show up in more than one of my files. Only load the surrounding files to match the edges. Load only your claim file to work on the inner parts. The tears don't seem to show up as much this way. :) Hope that helps.

But I reverted to a file that was saved before they annoyed me. And, no, I never have any files loaded other than mine, just when border matching. It seems they always appear, even if there is no other terrain around.

I would suggest trying to smooth vertices with a small size (2-3) and use very small movements. You should be able to get it very close to the original. Then say a prayer, save, and reload. If you're lucky the tear won't be back. :)
