Hello

Post by prometheus »

Hello its been a long time since my last posts here and my work with TR ..... I hope you are all fine and healty , I dropped morrowind modding long ago and dedicated to other moddings and other works , anyway I wanted to recover if possible my old works from the early stages that i have done here , since basically it is here that I learned modeling and my actual skills draw source here for the first steps ....

Is there anyone around that reminds my work and eventually may have some pictures of my old works? I am particularly interested in my old version of Narsis pictures and Dunmethpass , as well as other levels if you know any :) thanks a lot , I woudl like ot collect all my modding works into one site for easier referencing etc ... I would really appreciate any help ... and I guess you are all happy like me that Skyrim has been announced :) .....

Hey prom! Saw you posting over at the BSF, nice to see you still around :) I have all the old Narsis assets and pictures and will upload them this evening if no one does earlier.

By the way, not sure if you've heard, but Darkness Eternal is doing a great job with what used to be Dune. You should pop over and check it out.

Dunmereth pass was about half the reason I joined this project. (The other half being the idea of House Dres) Yes I remember your work.

If you perchance get the urge to make a model or two for old times sake, there are plenty of things that need making, and we'd love to have you.

Nice that the original work is kept going on tough I woul dhave liked that it wasn't turned into something else and at least retained the original name .. this was seems it has not much incommon With the original mod apart the stuff inside...

Glad to hear that my old models and stuff are still around and that are well kept in good hands , and very nice to hear you still have the old screenshots :)

Glad also to be rembered here still :) .....

My old stuff was highly unoptimized for morrowind , better done the ones of Dune but now I have passed to a complete new level , thanks to the Cryengine ....

if you are curiouse to see what I am doing I will post a link but I don't want make spam here ...

anyway here is a pic ....

It's nice to see you again, Prom! Your pictures of Narsis are still available in the Map 6 screenshots part of the website, I think... and Dunmereth (the name was slightly modified from Dunmeth) Pass is so far completely unchanged from when you left.

Hi prom!
Yes, we're currently redoing most of map 5. Your Dunmereth/Dunmeth Pass will remain the same mostly, although we might raise the landscape a little.

The last year has seen major changes to the map 4 region consisting of the armun ashlands, roth roryn and some thirr river.

A lot of the optimization was shrinking the city to fit more within lore parameters, and also removing some of the models that were not optimized for Morrowind at all (the gazebo, for instance, had tens of thousands of faces, compared to other Morrowind models which only have a few hundred).

I don't doubt my models where highly unoptimized , infact I learned modeling here and I wasn't a pro at the time .
Lot of unwelded vertices m useless polygon ovesized images etc....
Plus Morrowind is now an outdated engine , most of the modern 3d game engines support also occlusion surfaces hidden that allow to hide geopmetry and textures that highly speeds performances , so actually nowday a highly packed city with tons of details would run almoust smoother than a wildernes for how weird could seem , of course with a proper level design ...

But also modern engines allow tons of models with a high polycount , for example cryengine can reach 64000 polygonal objects to be loaded so far as maximum , anyway lods and mipmapping also do the work most of the time ... Something that wasn't present in Morrowind if I remember well ...
