[Solved] Object Reference Missing In Master File

Post by snexplan »

Hi,

I'm new to Morrowind (I came from skyrim), new to modding and new to online forums. I have the steam GOTY version, I installed heaps of mods including TR the Sacred East. I registered the .bsa in the .ini file; spent hours making sure everything worked and thought I had a pretty stable built. I played a couple of hours over the last few days and then tonight everything was running smooth, I saved and quit, changed the Fair Magicka mod to a different percentage, Using the Nexus Mod Manager. When I tried to start the game I got the following errors:

One of the files that "Cait's Critters Unleashed 2.0 (Tribunal).esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "BloodmoonAmmoFix.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "SneakingRealism_En_v3.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "Ships of the Imperial Navy (Bloodmoon version).esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "MiscastModv3.1.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "Grass_Mainland_Knots.ESP" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.

I clicked "Yes to All" and had a CTD when I loaded my saved game.

I would really appreciate any help, but I have to ask for clear instructions please, I'm a newbie.

Thanks a load

Hi Snexplan,

From the looks of what you posted, I would say the mod "Grass_Mainland_Knots.ESP" is the problem.

There may be some missing and conflicting references in that .esp, so I would try deactivating this mod and see how you go.

Don't those grass mods work in a way where you use them for distant land generation only, but never actually load the mods themselves in game? That could be your problem.

ONLY enable the grass.esp in MGEXE distant land generation. Fire up the vanilla launcher and untick it from the load order if it's enabled.

Thanks guys. I figured it out, it was the not activating the grassmods in the datafiles just with the MGE! Thanks a load!

Sorry Guys, it's not solved the problem, I can start a new game fine but when I try to load, CTD. I'm pretty sure it's not a TR issue though. So I'll go through my mod settings again to see if I can figure it out.

It seems it was the Fair Magicka Regen Mod which caused the problems, I disbaled it and now my save games are loading alright! I'm happy for the thread or whatever it's called to be put as solved or closed. Thanks!

Ticking a grass ESP just gives the grass collision, afaik. Taking a guess: your magicka regen mod probably runs a global script, so when you modified its ESP it tried to run a second, incompatible script whilst the first one was still in your save. After you save your game without the magicka mod, you should be able to re-enable it if you so wish.
