Ordinator in Mourning voice acting thread.

I figured it'd be easiest to just make this a claim.
Basically, this thread is for discussing the script for unique Ordinator in Mourning voice-acted dialog. Think Idle speech, Hello's for different disposition levels, battle cries. MorrowindShorts has offered to voice act the lines, and if it's all up to snuff we can see about including them in the mod proper - maybe an editing pass will have to happen, I honestly don't know much about sounds, which is why I'm opening this claim so that people who do can help out.
Disclaimer: this is not a guarantee that whatever we produce will end up in the mod, but it is an easy way to organize our efforts in one place and should allow us tot worm together to make it good enough.
I had some old files lying around - these are not finalized scripts and require input from others, but they should give you all an idea what we're dealing with here.

I expect the more pious Dunmer to prefer "ancestor", "spirit" or "ancestor spirit" over "ghost". That's the feel I remember from vanilla dialogue at least, but probably also because I think 'ghost' just sounds really bad in that context."Blessed Almsivi, through birth, life, ghost."
"Death does not diminish; the ghost gilds with glory."
...
"Can ghosts or justice change with time?"
"Refuse neither brother nor ghost."
How about
Code: Select all
"Blessed Almsivi, through birth, life, death."
Doesn't sound at all like the usual backstab-happy philosophy. What is that supposed to mean?"Better to suffer a wrong than to do one."

Here is a video I made of me voicing the lines. :Note that for the Idle I removed the surrounding noise, and for the others I left the audio unedited. I also accidentally made Hello>= into Hello=> lol. I made this video unlisted so only people with a link can view it. I hope this helps out.

I think ghost sounds better in the line ""Death does not diminish; the ghost gilds with glory", personally. The names Ghostgate and Ghostfence show that pious Dunmer are okay with using the word. But I also think it's probably being used one time too many here.

Some of that stuff, including most if not all of the entries with ghost, was directly from the Book of Dawn and Dusk, which I love. Having said that, it'd be nice to have some actual original entries rather than that list I just threw together, but then I prefer entirely new one rather than things adapted from that book of sayings.
Had missed that post. Even the worst lines sound great! (not quite as good as these , though)MorrowindShorts wrote:Here is a video I made of me voicing the lines. :Note that for the Idle I removed the surrounding noise, and for the others I left the audio unedited. Carmina burana aside, it'd definitely be better if the majority of the lines weren't from an ingame book indeed. Why wrote:Some of that stuff, including most if not all of the entries with ghost, was directly from the Book of Dawn and Dusk
