Arnesian War

Post by Ateiggaer »

While strolling through this wonderful project, I looked around Necrom and found the Arnesian War Museum, which inspired me to give you some Argonian Love, hope it gives some inspiration ;-)

Here's an Argonian warrior, with a turtleshield and a one-handed spear, note the barb on the spear to drag enemys into the dirty waters of Blackmarsh. The Shield, gathered from giant turtles also helps with camouflage, if tied to the back. Argonian shocktroops would swim with it in the water, often mistaken for local wildlife by the enemy. Guerrilla-Tactics for the win!

Argonian rebel eating some khat-like leaf to boost his combat readiness. In his hand a barbed machete to deal terrible fleshwounds to opponents, possibly even poisening them.

That's my variant of an Argonian rebel-hero. I imagine him as an Arminius-like charakter, who's been kidnapped as a kid and brought up in the imperial city and later returns to the black marshes to fight with his new military training in the Arnesian War with pretty succesfull guerilla-tactics. His helmet, who can only be worn by beast races, he carved out of the remains of the hist-tree he descended, which was destroyed during the raid. The top of the helmets symbolises a Wamasus(intelligent dragon with lightning for blood).

Hi! I really like your concepts here. As we move south gradually towards the jungles bordering the Black Marsh, this art could definitely become useful.

Hi Kaziem!

That would be amazing! Because of the fact that I have currently a lot of time at hand, if I somehow could help visualizing something you guys need let me know. :-)

Cheers!

The best single place to look for ideas is this thread; it can sometimes be hard for us to figure out and communicate what exactly we need, but we are improving on that front. Beyond that, I'd say draw concept art about whatever part of the project inspires you, and whatever discussions you find interesting. We're at a point now where we're trying to develop a clear image of what we actually want to create, and naturally images can facilitate that process considerably.

I really like the way you draw Argonians, by the way; I still haven't quite gotten the knack of drawing Khajiit and Argonians, and mine tend to look stiff and unnatural.

Thank you very much, I'll definitely take a look there.

Thanks, I tend to draw a lot of tiny little sketches first, to get the right pose for my charakters, before I paint them bigger. At least that's my way of getting more natural looking figures.

If you're interested in making more concept art, that's awesome. Feel free to start your own thread and just keep posting your stuff in there!

Here's some stuff that might work for parts of Shipal-Shin or further south.
