Then, if needed, update the descriptions of the other forums.
+1
This allows those who aren't sure where to post to just post there, without requiring too much effort in organising the subforums to be suitable for each and every post.

Is this the product of the testing of new stuff?

Because it seems like half-trolling, half-testing, and it's what comes up on Google as opposed to the normal forums.

It is testing. Shouldn't be touched as of now.

Actually, I was hoping that people would start migrating stuff over there sooner or later.
I'm battling with styling and several other things, but it's currently my intention to use it as the new forum.

Assuming that we don't end up scratching it, of course. That probably adds to the lack of use.

Yeah, I think we're waiting on this skype meeting to figure out what's happening and what forums we'll be migrating to.

Is it the intention to migrate away from phpbb and to drupal's forum system?

It is the intention to not use these exact forums anymore because they are incredibly old and in need of some sort of update. We're not sure what forums we will actually be moving to, however.

I see...

there are options here:

phpbb2 -> phpbb3, preserving the existing forums, but dropping a lot of customizations.

drupal's forum (fresh)

redmine's forum (fresh)

With the last two, there might be way of porting the conversations from phpbb2 if that is a requirement.

I think we've had this discussion before. TR desperately needs a clean break, with a phpBB2 kept around solely as forum archive.
In my opinion at least. I guess we'll have a solution once and for all on Saturday, or at least a deadline to one.

So… is the downtime related to a content migration?

No, the database server died for reasons not yet known.
