I second that.
So strange this place. Far from the marsh.

since it is collected without killing trees
Nope i think is much more performed throught ritual collecting and since the argonians are the only ones to gather it i think shouldn't be so rare but still should be precious , not be found outside of the region and may be used only by the mightiest warriors and special elite units.....for the sketch u have to wait i come back from mexico.....

I think that would be really good for much deeper into Argonia or towards Cyrodil. Obviously it isn't just marsh or jungle everywhere, but I think we can use most of the enviorments that are very moist, rainforest type habitats along with marshs/swamps and jungle.

I think the analogy of the beaver hut, with an aquatic entrance a classic idea!

On the subject of wood eventually rotting when under water...

I think Watches Moonglitter talked about continuous material replacement like thatch roofing: another capital idea! Very realistic! :)

Also... Might there be tar that could aid in wood treatment, fire, etc?

The armor looks cool, but the cuirass really doesn't look resinous at all. The advantages of making armor out of resin is that you could mold the individual pieces easily, so it wouldn't make sense to make a whole bunch of small plates and tie them together. Maybe something more molded, platemail like- only cooler and mroe natural looking.

I would be more than happy to creat some of the swampy regions of Black Marsh. I have been practicing my hand at exteriors, and they pretty good. So if you got anything that involves swamps I will more than happy to do it, once I finish my interior claims first.

Black marsh really needs swamps, that pull the player down and drown him, i think. Player could not jump when he is drowning in swamp. It would need scripting though.

A simple script that sets athletics down by 100 should do the trick, I think.

Also, it could automatically damage the playyer, and we could do a trick as Liliath did with his bitter root plants (basically, plants with a script attasched that auto-damage the player when he collides with them).

BM should be an eerie, mysterious place. And dangerous. Lots of agressive plants like vorr's meat eating plant, and those poison gas flower things Majra made.

This is what I am first going to do if we somehow go into to diffrent groups and start diffrent provinences.

I would first start of where the water is to the waste, with that swampy covering over it. Place several trees, falling over trees, and then dig some trenches. These trenches would be used for certain creatures on how they would catch thier prey. You would fall in and you would get eating.

Hopefully, if you're an Argonian, you could detect these things before you fell in or something else killed you in the natural deathtraps.

Like it would say,
"You can feel something eerie about this place, it would be best to head around these trees."

Then of course, Black Marsh is nearly a wildlife refuge. Finding creatures nowhere else.

Quick question. Argonia, like Morrowind was never successfully conquered by Cyrodill. If this is true then like the Commona Tong in Morrowind should there not be an underground Revolutionist political party in Argonia?

No, Argonia has been conquered - twice, sort of. During the second empire IIRC the northern parts were conquered succesfully by Reman's armies, which is when it was given the human name Black Marsh. Then with the Third Empire it was again conquered, completely this time - why do you think there are so many imperial settlements in Argonia in Arena? You don't think the Argonians know massonry skills. ;)

Plus the Argonians don't seem to bothered about the Empire - for one it provides at least some protection against Dunmeri slave traders who otherwise would be rampaging all over Argonia.

P.S. the Cammona Tong are first and foremost a thieves guild, they're certainly very rascist but their political ambitions seem to take a back seat to their competition with the imperial thieves guild.

Well put. But Argonian campagains, were not a full success. From what i read the Kharahtu Flu or what ever it was called killed all the outlander settlers in Argonia. But maybe I am mistaken.

I thought they couldn't make it all the way into the center of the Marsh, and instead built settlements around the outside, closer to the borders?

yes that is what i meant. It wasn't completly physically conqured by Cyrodill. It just kind of submitted itself to the empire. beings that after all as far as we know Argonia has no real central government. and virtually no army.unless ofcourse you are to count the Argonians themselves.

The Knahaten flu, it did not kill outlander settlers in Argonia, only the Kothringi, a species of men with reflective metalic skin, the few remaining tribesmen are spread throughout the rest of the Empire (and are probably headed for extinction as they no longer have a breeding population - which needs IIRC a couple thousand minimum).

The Empire came later, this event happened in the 2E around 2E560 and the Empire only conquered the whole province during the third era with use of Numidium. I don't care how good you are at guerilla warfare even the vietcong would have surrendered to Numidium and if you take a peek at the Arena map of Argonia the settlements are fairly evenly throughout both the coastal and interior regions of Argonia, settlements like Blackrose, Seaspring, Branchgrove, Rockspring, Alten Markmont, Greenspring and Helstrom are all located in the deep interior far from the coasts or the more sub-tropical jungles of southeastern Nibenay.

In fact Seaspring is right oposite a lak from Murkwood - the big dungeon in Argonia in Arena. So it seems to me the Cyrodiils are not at all afraid of colonising such deep swamp- and marshland, certainly they live in similar conditions in the jungles of Nibenay, maybe the Colovian Cyrodiils would find it rather humid but they're needed elsewhere.
