This claim is going back up for claiming because it has 17 empty cells.

The "mountains" on the north side and eastern half really need to be raised and detailed to match surrounding claims. I can make it blend nicely with the claim to the east, but the south edge will need some work on the other claim. The mountains to the north of this claim also need tons of work, but one step at a time.

I understand that there is a plantation on the SW side. Is there anything else?

Will do. :)

i2-299
i2-300

I consider claiming i2-300, do you have any idea on what architecture set you will be using for the corresponding exterior, and what it will look like?

Hi Harke.

I have a rough draft of the plantation ready:

I am open to suggestions and requests. Otherwise the buildings are pretty much set.

Here are two interiors for the tower with the corresponding exterior. The one on the right has a trapdoor to the tower summit.

What about using more ladders and less ramps on the second one?

I like the idea of going on top of the tower.

[Edit: Made some more progress. Improved the textures and shading in 3 cells. I have already layed out the general lay of the land that I want. I look forward to the weekend when I will have some real time to work on this.

Upper dated!

40% done, file still dirty. Working on major landscaping and texturing. Then I will do a pass for shading, rocks, and small plants. The plantation still needs some detail work as well.

The three plantation shacks (i2-299-Tel) are now finished. Check this thread, it has screenshots:

http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=17146

Feel free to discuss my interior architecture in my thread, I've updated it with my latest tower interior sketch.

BTW: Did you resize any of the building meshes you used for the plantation?

Nope. [Edit: Buildings no, walls yes. For clarity.]

I like the basic idea for the tower. It's nice and unique.

It is that domed Velothi house (forgot the id) set inside the larger house. I thought it make it look a little more interesting than a flat roof without making the house too big.

The plantation is in cell 31,-9.

I'll upload another version this weekend after I get more work on the mountains done.

[Edit:]

Latest version uploaded, file still dirty. Got done placing major rock formations and textures in the mountains. Did some more detail work in the plantation (still needs work).

http://cleverclothe.googlepages.com/TR_2_22_2c.JPG

Still need to do shadding and adding small plants/rocks. Also need to add the entrance to the abandoned mine.

Hello. As I can see you have not worked on the cells bordering to my claim yet. Allow me then to start with southern cells of my claim and then you can match to me.
From your post I concluded you plan to put there similar mountains as are those on east of your claim. This would be perfect for me as well. I plan to go some 75 percent higher in the middle of my claim, but on the borders it will look very similar to your concept.
I would also like to add a dirtroad going north connecting to the road which is there, I hope you would not mind.
As to your claim - I like the plantation very much. Looks very 'colonial' to me. The mountains form a little labyrinth, which is that kind of landscape which always draws attention of the player. You haven't detailed this area yet so the claim looks quite plain now, but I am looking forward to see how it develops.

Sounds good. I have plenty of work to do in the rest of the claim, so I will hold off on the north border for a bit. :)

Sometimes there is a lot of joy in making a small plantation.

The dirt road sounds good. Especially because the core wants a village up north.

Will you be adding any windows to the plantation tower or the plantation manor? My interior i2-300 is reaching the stage where I am putting the furniture in. I have the plan I am using posted in my claim. I went to great pains (great pains for me ;), this is the second interior, that I hope will be approved) to create an interior that fits, and if I know about the windows, then I can finish the interior, so that the same tight fit that applies to the rest of the interior also applies to the windows. Until I hear from you, I'll just finish my claim as if there weren't any windows in it.

No major updates since last month.

I will be going through with the vertex shader and finishing the exteriors for various interiors within this claim this week.

Need to do flora and small rocks afterwards.

Not as much as I had hoped (got sick again). I'll post some work tonight. Detailing is most tedious.

Most of the valley is detailed. I still need to do a walk through to look for rough terrain and I think it needs some variety of plants (currently has wickwheat and hack-lo). I am just not sure what. I hope to have the mountains done by tomorrow, it should go faster.

Placing plants and small rocks gets on my nerves.

I like the look of the plantation and the valley area in general. The mountains seem like they should have at least something of interest in them though. Maybe you could do something cool with that little mountaintop plateau thing? Not sure what could go there. Maybe a small little shrine or something of that sort. Just something small and kind of a neat find. I wish I hadsome less vague ideas to share.

Other than that it's looking pretty good as far as the major details go.

Sorry for the delay! Detailing is tedious and flu/root canals suck.

Claim finished.

Merging notes:
- North border will need zipping with 2-19 after it is raised to match.
- The cells to the south need to be redone and matched.

Other notes:
- There is a "tree fort" SE of the plantation. I left it as is. It could use a purpose and a few fixes. Maybe it could be involved in a quest?

Review: Everything looks good. A few minor things here and there but altogether very good.

Comments The treehouse is quite clever. I'll leave it empty for now in case someone wants to use it for something. Not sure if the little velothi village needs a name or not.

It does need some fixes. The Ex_common_plat_LRG with the two Ex_De_Docks_Gate, there's no way in hell it would convince anyone that it can stand as it does with just two ropes, one at an end and the other about one third from the same end... It has other elements that commit various sins, such as caspering.

I'm sure it can be fixed, but it isn't in the approved file...
