Mr. Sorry's Concept Art: Hammerfell Update!

Post by Mr. Sorry of Balmora »

well um... to understand art you must accept it in all forms scetches are not always how concept is made some times it starts with drawing of an idea.

are just a few drawings i made not worthy of any artist recognition, but hey what can an abstract artist do?

Fix the links. They don't work.

I quite like the dagger, quite imperial, and the pipe is almost a must.

Ok, I can see them now. Very creative. I quite like the Bonemold pipe. Can someone model this and put it in OoT?

That link doesn't work... take the "]" off the end... [Edit]And now that I think about it, wasn't there a concept for a Necromancer's robe some time ago, but it was decided that it wouldn't work as a Necromancer's? [/Edit]

The slavebracer is different, though I don't know if there's really a need for new slave bracers. I think I liked the ebony pipe the most, though I wish it weren't colored... actually, I wish none were colored (I like concept art in black and white).

While the goblet dagger is indeed creative, I don't know how exactly it would fit into Morrowind... unless it were a unique weapon of some sort...

The glass spear has two wide of a point, and I don't know how well it would puncture... Might I suggest taking off the right most edge-flaring thing, and make the left most one longer?

Clever use of Daedric. :) It could probably be made into a Daedric Worshipper's robe as a retexture. We have like..2 clothes in OoT.

Those are pretty sweet, man. A silly idea spawned in my head when I was looking at the pipes though: you should make a skooma bong (j/k)

the gobblet dagger has a unique story behind it,

It belonged to an imperial who saw fit to drink the blood of his enemies after they were slain, in this he filld a chalice with blood from the gobbled and drank to the conclusion of a mighty battle he drank so often the blood of animals that when he killed and drank blood of a rat that was blighted in Vvardenfell and stoed away on a ship to Almlexia he was instantly parilized and soon died of starvation his dagger was lost in the built of Mournhold in what is now an underground extention of the Mournhold sewers.

all you're pipes look the same to me, just different colours. Now, a few years ago, I took a particular liking to pipes, and i've been drawing them ever since, i searched many times on the internet finding really interesting designs that i likes, and drawing them for myself, i've watched television programs and I almost won a few in a chest in an auction once but the thing went for a couple of hundred pounds in the end, and it was really the chest i was interested in more so than the pipes but anyway, I have countless numbers of pipe designs, some i've copied some of my own. Here's a few of my favourites:
I apologise for the poorness of the quality, i can get better pictures tomorrow, its just i have poor lighting atm and i'm taking pictures with a digital camera as i dont have a scanner.

The point i'm trying to make is that you need some variation in your work, don't just draw the same thing a bunch of times, colour it differently and give them all different names. Do a bit of research into what it is you are trying to depict and try out different styles. ask youself what might be suited to the purpose you are trying to achieve.

yea, no offence Mr. Sorry, but I'm sorry about the pipes, trying making them a little more intriguing, and not just the color of whats being smoked. Maybe some special engravings of a hacklo plant of leave or something.

One simple pipe is all we need. A Hackle-lo pipe that anyone who wasn't really poor would use.

The imperials likely wouldnt have a scimitar, and we have royal imperial daggers.

If Scimitars are going to be included, they wouldn't be Imperial; they'd probably be Khajiit, or at a push Altmer, Redguard or Argonian. Personally I don't think scimitars ever look good in Morrowind, modders tend to make them too curved, and anyway the animation for swinging a sword really doesn't suit the way a scimitar is meant to be handled.
If scimitars are going to be made, I'd suggest these materials/provinces:

Iron
Steel
Silver
Orcish
Khajiit (I know they don't have a particular material, but Imperials got their own weapon set)
Altmer, Redguard or Argonian, maybe

Any thieves' clothing is probably going to be black or at least very dark. I see you've made the clothes a beige colour so they blend with the Hlaalu buildings, but thieves operate in the darkest conditions possible so any colour other than black will be more hindrance than help; plus, a thief who is an oathman of house Hlaalu is more likely to steal from other Great House properties, so blending into the architecture of their own Houses is a little pointless. Not a bad idea though

Um, you should have just updated your original concept art thread, instead of making a new on just for one piece. I'll merge them for you.
