[FAQ] Tamriel Rebuilt Stances

Post by Stalker »

Stance on Vvardenfell
TR will not accept mods that add, change or delete content from the original Bethesda work on Vvardenfell.

Stance on Cyrodiil
TR will not accept mods that add, change or delete content in the original Bethesda work on Cyrodiil.

Stance on Falmer
The general consensus about the existence of the Falmer in TR is that they are extinct and will stay extinct. TR will not welcome "survivor" Falmer in the project's mods, so please do not create quests, NPCs, or any other lore to conflict with this in your mods.

The lore is too imprecise to make a clear judgment on their current state of existence. That the Falmer are extinct or are indeed Rieklings has yet to be confirmed by Bethesda. Until then TR will leave them as an extinct species.

Only under the extreme circumstance that Bethesda changes the lore on the Falmer will TR review this policy.

Stance on Dwemer
The general consensus about the existence of the Dwemer in TR is that they are extinct and will stay extinct. TR will not welcome "survivor" Dwemer in the projects mods so please do not create quests, NPCs, or any other lore to conflict with this in your mods.

The lore clearly states that the Dwemer are extinct with the exception of Yagrum and this will not change.

Only under the extreme circumstance that Bethesda changes the lore on the Dwemer will TR review this policy.

Stance on Sotha Sil
Tamriel Rebuilt is in line with BlueDev (who worked on the quest line for Tribunal), who said, concerning Sotha Sil:

He is Dead.

And he will remain that way. The Devs spoke, and as far as TR is concerned, that's rock solid lore.

Stance on New Races
TR will only welcome lore-supported races.

Any new races that have yet to be created should have some reference within Bethesda's related lore to Tamriel to be accepted.

If you have the intention of creating a new race you must provide sufficient evidence of their existence within Tamrielic Lore and also prove that this race still exists within the world.

Any race that is not supported by lore or are already an extinct race will not be accepted in TR.

Stance on Horses in Morrowind

No.

See http://www.imperial-library.info/dogate/

to read the easiest explanation on why there are no horses in Morrowind - Mainland or Vvardenfell.

Stance on Morroblivion and similar converters

No.

The aim of Tamriel Rebuilt is to build "new" provinces for the TES games, not to convert from one game to another. We will not use such utilities, our mod for Morrowind will stay purely a mod for Morrowind, our mod for Oblivion will stay purely a mod for Oblivion.

You are free to try to convert TR mods for yourself, but we will offer no assistance whatsoever for doing so.

Stance on Great House Strongholds

Great Houses Dres and Indoril will get their own strongholds on the mainland, so that when playing only Tamriel Rebuilt, all 5 great houses will have one stronghold. Redoran, Hlaalu, and Telvanni will not be getting another stronghold. In the course of several quest lines, you may come to possess a habitat or perhaps even run a village, but you will not be receiving another stronghold. Period.
