Greetings from the new webmaster

Post by Amrod »

I'm happy to inform you that TR once more has a webmaster, me.
It's going to be hard to follow in the footsteps of our previous webmaster Zephyr, but I'm going to do my best. (and I hope he will help me at least until I get comfortable in my new position).

There are plans to improve the website, and I will get to them. In time. But my first steps will be to get fammiliar with the server and setting up ways that people can contact me with bugs and other suggestions on webmasterstuff.

There's alot of people that I want to thank for their support, but I'm not gonna use any names in this post, because i'll inevitably forget one and that person will feel offended. You all know who you are!

Now, I'm going to be totaly dedicated and nothing is going to distract me from my
.... ooooh shiney new buttons!

Now what was I saying?

Good luck on your journey, Amrod. I'm sure, you've got something to BE a webmaster. And I know, that upkeeping an international forum is one helluva pain in the butt, but still good luck :D

BTW, What's the meaning of these radioactive avatars???
Any objections?

That error is unlikely for a number of reasons, but mainly because my servers don't run on Windows and therefore have no C: drive ;)

The *somethingsomething* is the most important part of the error to know about, theres no way you can check hundreds of directorys looking to see if they all have index.html or not, and whether anywhere links to it.

It's possible, but only if zephyr made the mistake of testing a file locally on his C;\ drive and forgot to change it back. It's unlikely, but possible. Are you sure there was c:\ in front of it?

Anyway, this is not the place for bug reports, I'll soon set up an email adress where you can email bugs like this to me.

f you need my help, let me know, might be best to contact me on msn whilst you get used to things on the server and how it works.
I'll add you to my msn. Zephyr has also offered to answer any questions I have about his code, so thats alot of help at my disposal ;). But eh, what is your msn? can you pm it? It's not in your profile.
