Description
Velothi mountains, although not as mountaneous as most of the VM region. The northern part should feature a non snow BM pine tree forest that will continue into 5-1.

Note that cleaning irrelevant cells may create land tears, so backup your work regularly and often.

This part of the VM region uses BM statics.

Since 5-4 is progressing well, I'd like to claim this one.

As required, this area will have a lot of lovely bloodmoonness in it. I'll make it have some middlesized mountains as well as some valleys.

next to that I might add a small fishing village at the southern part of the claim.

It will also have some caves or tombs.

Your 5-4 claim looked very good, and seems to be progressing towards completion shortly. Enjoy this one as well.

Remember to use the height map. If you make any large alterations to the landscape (you mentioned some mountain stuff), make sure to post a WIP when the basic landscaping is done, so we can look at it.

Looks very good, nice layout and the little village is great. Remember you can use redoran architecture here as well, since it's their territory.

Also, as Scamp states below, one nordic barrow is enough, and it needs to be extremely well hidden and/or totally ravaged by redoran bullies.

+ in -21 8 you can start adding snow in altitudes >4000.

Edit: Though I think one nordic barrow is definitely enough for this claim...

Edit2: Nemon and me are not very fond of the TR WG rock retextures to BM. I might mention that we do not use them in higher areas. It's up to you actually, but as I do not like them, may I ask you to use less of that kind? Mr. Green sry for blaming comments or something

I wouldn't mind claiming this. I see some nice work here has been left behind to work off of. I haven't done an exterior yet, but this seems like a good opportunity to get started. I will try to further build upon Sir_Dave's vision for this map. Also, I have been reading Haplo's Guide to Exterior building tutorial, it seems fairly straight forward, but I do still have questions about exterior building...

This is to ensure terrain continuity, if modder A has used a certain ground texture it's smart to have the same texture applied in a certain area in your claim - to avoid visual claim borders).

5-18, as you can see by this picture: http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/2835/mwmap5.jpg - this claim includes a main road going both north and west into neighboring claims. Roads need to be "sunk" a little into the ground as if it's been trodden upon/used for a while. It also requires more detail than standard landscape, this is because we consider roads to be more used by players than wilderness, and we want to make it enjoyable following these roads.

And yet again, download other files to make sure you apply the same style, and although this seems like just rules rules rules - some personal touch is allowed.

Ok guys, new file up.

Northern cells bordering 5-1 (btw, Baan Malur is simply amazing - by looking at this city, it's hard to believe that Redoran is the weakest Great House :P) and 5-19 are mostly done I think, but it would be nice if someone could take a look and tell if it's enough, or should I add more details here and there.

Before I start working on the rest of it, few questions:

Ancestral tombs or nordic barrows or both? Is this part of the region all-Dunmer (since it's close to Baan Malur, ancient heart of the Redoran culture) or is it ok to show some nordic influence there?

That village in -17,8 made by Sir_Dave - while it looks really nice, there's a Redoran outpost (I think) and the settlement of Isra Nium just a few cells to the south (and of course huge BM up north) - wouldn't this make the region slightly overpopulated? I don't know, I had an impression that this part of the province is all about Redoran stronghold-cities in the middle of nowhere :P But if its ok to keep it, I'll keep it - but I was actually thinking about changing this into a farm that supplies nearby settlements, as that one in -19,10 is now a small lumber camp.

While I understand the gameplay logic behind it, I don't think important roads (this is going to be the main road to Baan Malur?) should pass that close by a Daedric ruin. (Most people play with MGE nowadays anyway, so they won't miss it.)

I'd rather see ancestral tombs instead of barrows in this area, this are has been under Redoran control for ages. Some minor Nordic stuff is fine I suppose, like the stones on that hill, but that really should be all there is. That hill, by the way, would be a perfect place to use some of the Dunmeri-defaced standing stones, if those already made their way into data. The village seems fine with me, but ultimately all this stuff is Nemon's call.

I know this isn't much, but unfortunately, vacations and real life were my priority last month :P I'll try to do more this time

By the way, should I make southern part of my claim Ash Swamp? The map says 5-18 is all-VM, but what about the border with 5-24 (all-AS)? Any suggestions what should I do to make the transition between the regions as smooth as possible?

What about the cells "outside" my claim? I mean, should I edit them too while making seafloor or is it something done later by someone else?

Cells outside of your claim should be ignored, and finally deleted before submitting your claim for review.

Regarding the transition, feel free to see how that has been done elsewhere. I didn't think 5-24 had any real border with 5-18 besides underwater areas? Unfortunately imageshack (where the region border pic is hosted) seems unavailable now.

By the way, I remember from vanilla FG questline that there should be dwemer ruins near Blacklight/Baan Malur. Are they included yet? If not, can I make it? Nothing superbig, but dwemer ruins hidden in the pine forest could be fun.
