The archive fix didn't work...

Post by turtleman04 »

OK, so I got the bum-rush of errors whenever I entered a TR cell that eventually led to MW crashing.

So i added the line "Archive 2=TR_Data.bsa" t the .ini file.

hurray! the dragon is slain! right?

No....fudge cookies. It's still doing the same thing.

No one seems to have answered this one yet. Ideas? :)

What "bum-rush" errors? Check the Morrowind error log for the source.

The usual thing most people complain about. The NIF files aren't loading and neither are the animation schemes. I've looked at things other have said may have been a problem but nothing is clicking. (note: using Windows 7)

Then I have no idea what the issue could be. Perhaps a corrupted bsa file, but that's very odd.

Yes, sounds like something is wrong in your installation. Is your Map 1 file the one included in the Map 2 download here (previous Map 1 releases are now very outdated)?

You know what's also popular? Enormous flying cities and ridable dragons. Maybe TR should invest in navigable ships and underwater cities.

Do you have the User Access Controls enabled? if so it might help to disable them. I was on an admin account but had them on and it messed me up trying to get started as well.
And that's how you get to Llama School.

I would suggest that if you don't want to disable UAC, you'll need to open windows explorer and right click on the .exe files for MW (morrowind.exe and morrowind launcher.exe) and select the properties. when that opens click on the compatibility tab and make sure the little box next to "run as administrator" is checked. While you are there you can also set it to run in "win xp, sp2" mode. You should also do this for MGE and any other 3rd party programs you use. This should fix 95% of your problems. The other 5% will probably be a load order issue or mod conflict issue.

Hope that helps. If you still have trouble, posting your mod list (at the bottom of morrowind.ini) and warnings.txt (from the MW directory) will help to figure it out. :)

Good luck.
