Lore-Friendly Resource Collection

Post by Ragox »

As I love browsing through Nexus and PES I thought it might be helpful if I do a summary of all well done and lore friendly resources I stumble upon while skimming through the masses of weird Anime- and Final Fantasy-like stuff.

Additionally I'd be fine with doing the contacting for permission (when needed) and keeping track of all credits that would be due, if you'd like something out of the list to be added to TR.

I'll be expanding the list if this thread proves popular, also feel free to post any suggestions you may have.

Weapons:

Meskoa Weapon Pack
Some really well modeled, skinned and lore-friendly weapons in the pack we could use.

I really think we should include the Argonian armors, if only so we can use them in Map 6 later on.

The Argonian armour sets don't hide the fact that they're retextures very well. I can identify the original models of most of the armour parts, simply going from the screenshots.

Holy crap, Silicon Bro's stuff looks great. I checked it out in game, and baring a few tweaks (like making it so the Bonemold helmet actually covers the character's eyes)I think we could really use this. At least we'll have a solid base of Argonian material to work with in the future.

His Readme's say we can use his stuff as long as we credit and contact him via e-mail for permission. Someone should get to it asap, in my honest opinion.

Silicon Bro also has a misc item resource. Most of this stuff isn't usable, but there are few intriguing items.

I agree with Gnomey that the Argonian armors in Ragox's post aren't ideal.

I tried it now ingame and you're right, it's really easy to notice.

So I removed that one from my opening post and added in the awesome other two that were suggested by Infragris.

How about Westly's Fine Clothiers of Tamriel? There are some very nice pieces in there - I checked the readme and he gives (limited) usage permission. He's rather hard to contact, though.

Yeah, nice as that stuff is, it requires the use of Better Bodies, and our mod uses clothes for the vanilla bodies.

I like the drums, tollbone armor, that indoril robe thing, 5 or so weapons and that bonemold a little.

I'm not a fan of the Dragonbone set. I know that the Dragonbone cuirass is basically just a retextured bonemold cuirass, but I think it'd be much better to have something which was more inspired by Skyrim's Dragonbone armor rather than Morrowind's bonemold. Not that TR is terribly concerned with Dragonbone...

Me neither, I would like similar to bonemold but not retex. And I think it would be great to have another highly powerful set of armor, but I'd like it to be weaker than daedric unlike dragonbone currias.
And what? A glass bow? I don't think that is even possible.
