Poetry thread

Post by otaku4242 »

Lets start a poetry thread. I'll start.

The following could be placed on the island of Gorne:

That creepy feeling,
that tingling sensation,
your body is healing,
'tis not mutation.

The divine disease,
it makes you whole,
'tis guaranteed,
to heal the soul.

The sleeper waits,
within the mountain,
pry open the gates,
release the fountain.

The dreamer is awake

Prayer to Mephala

Post by otaku4242 »

how about a non-rhyming poem today?

In deepest darkness,
she lies in wait,
to pulls the strings,
of lightest weight.

Your sphere of lies,
it keeps us safe,
our enemies unknowning,
of whom to believe.

The greatest pleasure,
a god can give,
you provide us with,
so we may live.

the red ash sands gather
in wisps of spite and grace
they travel the barren lands
spreading the seeds of our faith
yet do the ash yams grow
in these ash-lands farther

take up not the steel
but the flames of hope
as our lady almalexia
shall set us free
of such plain garments
and let us forever,
express our spirit through
praise of her

watching always vivec judges the meek
let them be strong he says
yet the meek remain and they question their fate
and vivec told them to do pilgrimage to the bones of faith
and so, they themselves shall take up the rake and bask in the glories of a simple existence

not all those who wander are lost
for those who wander gain the wisdom of ten-thousand men
as they experience the world as it is, and not as it was
so then does not all those who wander keep with them the spirit of sotha sil?
let all those who wander find solace in the teachings of the clockwork king.

An extended Haiku about the Tribunal

He was born in ash,
among Houses forgotten,
his clockwork city.

He killed his best friend,
with the tools of the profane,
and rose to Godhood.

He was born in ash,
born among the Velothi,
In fire and faith.

Killed his general,
with the motions of unknown,
and rose to Godhood.

She was born in ash,
to lowest of poverty
her beauty unmatched.

She killed her husband,
with with knowledge of seduction,
and rose to godhood.

haha, as amusing as the thought is, it'd be better to just have the name of some random madman selling his mad poetry on scrolls or something.

You see burden and devastation
We see luggage, filled caravans
Kill everyone, Grab papyrus and feather
Noble sanguine sulk assets

You think we seek fortune
We seek respect and offer security
Know in time our presence
Never forget the blessing

You see burden and devastation
We see luggage, filled caravans
You think we seek fortune
We seek respect and offer security

You see burden and devastation
We see luggage, filled caravans
Fire will be your tool
Water will mend your work

You think we seek fortune
We seek respect and offer security
Fault needs no print
Wake yourselves now

Know in time our presence
Never forget the blessing
Surrender to us or die
Supply suffering onto us

I was having a go at "adapting" a certain well-known Australian folksong for Morrowind, might as well post it here:

A young daggerlad camped at a muckpond,
shaded by an old strider-husk.
As he waited for the ash to calm, he whistled
a hoomsong taught by his ancestors.

Who will come in from old Sharmat's breath?
And walk with me awhile
as Veloth did.

Down came a guar, to shelter from the ash,
up came the daggerlad; mirth-masked, spear-slung.
And as he worked the guar, he whistled
a hoomsong taught by his ancestors.

You will come in from old Sharmat's breath
and walk with me awhile.
As Veloth did.

Down came guar-herd, old nix-hound loping;
down came the guardsmen, bonemold-clad:
"Where is the guar you took into, as you whistled
a hoomsong taught by your ancestors?"

You will come in from old Sharmat's breath
and walk with me awhile.
As Veloth did.

Up went young daggerlad, into the muck,
drowning himself near the old strider-husk.
And when the ash quickens, his spirit still whistles
a hoomsong taught by his ancestors.

Too bad I'm not Australian. What's the original song?

Waltzing Matilda; a rousing ode to sheep-thieving drifters, and also the unofficial anthem of the nation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SANzC9-a5yo

In deepest knowledge
lies great destruction
Some are acknowledged
and some filled with seduction

Our most bitter of memories
can often trick us
be they filled with disease
or even superfluous

We become frightened and scared
at the most ugly of things
and we become broken beyond repair
and unable to spread our wings

The darkest of darkness
keeps our predators at bay
and so we party regardless
of our nightmares at bay

Create your own Paradise
and kill your master
feel the thrill
and follow no pastor

For you have no rivals
for neither Cold nor Heat
can deny you survival
for you are complete

I tried to get every realm of oblivion in there but I couldn't get The Chimera of Desolation to rhyme with The Soul Cairn
