Prostitutes Guild Demo

Ok for some time now I have been working on a demo for the PG guild, just to demonstrate that it can be added within good taste & well within the lore.

However because of other commitments I haven't had time to complete it and I doubt I will in the near future but there are at least enough quests in this mod for you to get a general idea of what I am thinking about with regards to the PG in TR.

Go to Balmora and you will come across the guild house near the Hlaalu manor you can then join this guild etc.

No sex is on offer!! This is not a sex mod so forget about it.

The mod is clean but not finished, the quest that needed finishing is the date quest and maybe when I have time I will finish it off but for the moment I want you lot to review it.

To the nay sayers:
There is no point trying to prevent a guild like this one on the basis of some silly teen rating ES3 was given, kids can go out and grab any mod out there with much worse stuff or make it themselves so whats the point of denying this when your only concern is the name?

Cep, glad you got this out for people to look at!!

Unfortunately the computer that has Morrowind on it is currently sitting disassembled in the storage room at my parents house, waiting for me to revive it when i (finally) get a place of my own - so i cant review your demo

Hopefully others will though!!

I only played the first quest and keeping in mind that this is just a demo, I must say I like it very much. This guild adds so much realism to the gameworld. It all looks very acceptable and as you said it yourself there is no sex involved at all. In fact its kinda sweet and romantic. Anyone who sees sex in this mod simply has a perverted mind. Allthough I thought it was kinda dissappointing you couldn't hire a companion yourself.

Anyway. In this form I think there is no objection at all for adding this to TR.

PS: Shouldn't we add male prostitutes too?

Actually what you suggested was going to be part of 3 quests that I didn't get around to just yet and I must apologise to the ladies that there are not many male prostitutes but I couldn't playtest it that way because I don't have a female char.

If there is only romantic love and no XXX rated stuff, then why call it the prostitutes guild? The name suggests a real dirty and underground guild.

Prostitutes aren't necissarily dirty and underground that's just because in RL most are. But I think you could add it easily to some of the towns in morrowind. However due to the supposedly promiscuous nature of dark elves I don't think there would be a lot of prostitution in morrowind.

Actually, in Europe, prostitution isn't much mroe underground or dirty than real estate, used cars, or finance brokering. Okay, that's Europe, I know America is quite different. But hey, it's not such a bad name. And remember, there's a lot of drug dealing going on, why not prostitution?

The name comes from "The Mystery of princess Talara", an in-game book where this guild is explicitly mentioned. Ain't lore a fancy thing? I personally would prefer courtesans' guild, but this is Cep's project, I will not tell him how to do it. He's doing a good job, after all.

Hmmm. In 'the real barenziah', this is stated about elvesw in general, IIRC. Also, while promiscuous, elves seemingly aren't usually considering actually taking money for having sex with people (as Barenziah, when fleeing Skytrim, was pleased, but surprised, that half the legion fort she slept with gave her money afterwards).
Still, they possibly wouldn't mind as much as human women.
Oh, and dark elves are only ugly if you don't play with an NPC replacer installed. And without one, so is everyone else.

But alas, as they say, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.

Courtisan emplies within the courts. And Barenziah was brought up secluded so she might not know about prostitution anyways but regardless I think a courtisan group would work with the houses (especially concerning spying and assasination) and a prostitution guild would work better for some of the other provinces. (Maybe one concerning the legions might work however.)

Ok from this quote from the real barenziah we see that there are likely prostitutes in morrowind. Also considering how few young females there are in morrowind it is no surprise that there are no overt tones of sexuality in the game (Not to mention it's PG rating).

Another Note. Outwardly elves aren't promiscuous at least not any of any rank and it would likly be the poor that are more promiscuous. Another reason why The game wouldn't have prostitutes is that the island is fairly new so poverty and density aren't around as much.

Barenziah didnt sleep with half the legion, it was the tales she heard. She did however sleep with some others where she was surprised to retreieve money

What doesnt fit? I didn't read it all. Anyway prostitutes don't have to be stunning ya know.

Anyway the name stays, its stupid and rather pointless to create the guild under another name when it quite clearly appears in the original game under the name "Prostitutes Guild".

The arguement to change the name is a waste of time, besides those people who dont like the name can always change it on their version of TR.

Ok I finally tried the mod and although there are some things that should be changed the idea is a good one.
Of the things that should be changed.
1) Dibella probably wouldn't be worshipped in morrowind so probably pick a deadra.
2) The guild would probably not advertise as a brothel from the outside (Although you may have done that to let people find it easier)
3) Also you may want to foster the courtesan feeling more as that will allow more political intrigue.
Overall needs work but good idea.

Daedra: Mephala or Boethzidah. Possibly both. Vivec, being the tribunal member mor or less solely associated with sex, would also be a possibility.

You might also want to put some copies of Boethidah's pillow book into the inventories and desks of the prostitutes.

Well, the House of Earthly Delights in Suran doesn't hide, either. Red lights and a suggestive name seem to be okay.

And, well, while prostitutes don't have to look stunning, they have to look presentable at least, and young.

And, what doesn't fit? A nord praise post in a thread about your mod, Cep.

As for the name, if it's lore, well, we will of course go with it.

good ideas, as long as it's tasteful. We don't want TR to be one of those virtual porn mods, like "lara croft lover companion" or something similarily disgusting and moronic.

I am raising this thread from the dead because I didnt realise how popular my work on it had been

Ok well the situation is this, I am planning my time more and as such will have more time to devote to my love of TR modding.

If no one's got any objections and I have helped hermit carry out the finishing touches to our externals then I might start making stuff up for map 1.

Is this guild going to be part of TR or will it be a BOL-ON? Or not even be finished?

By the way, i think the idea is good and could be included. About the demo i think that this guild has potential and made the way you've done it cep it works very good and with very good taste. My vote...Finish it and include it in TR.

I guess the next stage is to create a new demo based within TR so as to show its possible integration.
