In untitled 3, that is what I can't wait for! Looks like the entrance to an indoor plaza, alot like Vivec, it should be interesting, and a relief from the possibly high FPS of the other parts of the city, as we should consider putting most of the NPCs into places like that, it will keep FPS lower outside.

actually the fps to me greatly increased by at least a couple of numbers du to the recent manouvers i made for this like , halve the polycount of high polycount buildings, make single ater meshes to substitute multiple ones and opening more some areas......

about the pic u referred the lower part the big gates are for the Stables of the Rotumbo Knights......

i noticed you used the canal pices to create higher levels, very creative! however, if there is lots of them, you could mak "half models" of the buildings there to help frame rate.

My suggestion would be to cut down on the number of refrences per cell. This, I found, is a great killer of FPS. Balmora is the laggiest place in Vvardenfell, and it is the place in Vvardenfell with most refrences. Balsan Mar had 700 refrences, and its average FPS was 6. Now it's 400 refrences, and the average FPS is 16.

no references aren't what makes the game laggy , what makes the game laggy is transparency , texture loading, script loading, lighting and shadowing and of course animations and sound.... I made one cell with about 1094 references and has no lag....

Narsis informations

House Hlaalu:

Clan Hlaalu is the smallest and weakest of the five clans, clinging to Great House status in their ancient capital of Narsis. Traditional enemies of the Indoril, who have controlled the levers of government for 3,000 years, the continued resilience of the Hlaalu must inspire a certain respect. Merchants and traders in a land that despises outsiders, the Hlaalu nevertheless maintain a limited commerce with the Empire, trading stout Imperial broadcloth and Cyrodilic brandy for the elegant trinkets produced by the admittedly skilled craftsmer of Morrowind.
As a result of its close relationship with the Imperial administration, House Hlaalu has emerged as politically and economically dominant among the Great Houses of Vvardenfell and Morrowind. Hlaalu welcomes Imperial culture and law, Imperial Legions and bureaucracy, and Imperial freedom of trade and religion.
Hlaalu still honors the old Dunmer ways -- the ancestors, the Temple, and the noble houses -- but has readily adapted to the rapid pace of change and progress in the Imperial provinces. Unlike the other Great Houses, which are largely hostile to non-Dunmer, House Hlaalu aspires to live in peace and harmony with the other races, and to share in the growth and prosperity of the Empire. Hlaalu public buildings -- tradehouses and craft guilds, manors and council halls -- are designed as simple multi-storied buildings roughly rectangular in plan, featuring arched entranceways and modest decorated exteriors. More modest one-story private dwellings follow the same plan, except with less decoration. Hlaalu plantation estates resemble Temple compounds, with walled precincts enclosing outbuildings for craftsmen and servants, dominated by a grand manor residence in place of a Temple shrine.

Narsis

Narsis weaves it web of sleep upon all those who enter, for the Dark Elves of Narsis discourage visitors. It seems however that you are unaffected. The Stormlords hold dominion over this city- state, and the wind seems to whisper their name.

Do they really need that many inns?

And can't some of them have names that are more unique, three "golden" things, two "laughing" things, etc. makes the names sound too similar.

Narsis is seeming more awesome by the minute, still, I think.

As long as all 20 Inns are somehow different then it might be ok. Maybe some are more for drinking then others. The problem i can see is that after the 10th inn they're all going to start looking the same.

If you're talking about the Arena names, I don't believe those were set up by Bethesda to appear in TES 3. Alot of inns throughout Tamriel have the exact same name in arena. That would be strange to do with TR. We should have our own names for the most part.

The Gateway Inn is already in sadrith mora, silly.
How about "The Jolly Rotumbo" or "The Angry Scrib"?
Also, gimli is making the gardens correct?

Theoretical means something concearning hypothetical reasoning, rather than practical.
So the Theoretical Dignity Club means that the employees and patrons of the club MAY have dignity, but they probably don't. As far as I can deduce, it is a very fancy name for a very low-class bar.

I could, if you want - just last night I made a hyper-detailed courtyard for a fort in old ebonheart, I was thinking I could do something similar - Unless you would rather do this work, of course.

I realized at work that I misinterperated the name of the Theoretical Dignity Club. Instead of a divy place, it would most likely be an extremely decadent place. Whores, drugs, alcohol, you name it. The name of the club comes from the fact that the patrons of the club are probably rich, fancy-schmancy nobles, who commoners think are full of dignity and class. The joke in the name is that so many illegal and immoral acts go on in the club, that in truth, the patrons have no real dignity at all.

I must say, I like the idea of the Theoretical Dignity Club; it could make for some interesting quests and even more interesting NPCs. On the issue of the number of watering holes in general, I feel that for a relative number we may look at what Bethesda has made for us. Obviously Narsis would be on a much larger scale, but look at the number of bars in Suran and Balmora, two existing Hlallu cities. I feel that Prometheus's suggestion of about five should make for good gameplay.

Paulus Hlaalu, Sub-Vizier of the Theoretical Dignity Club, Narsis:
No my friend, you are confused. The Morag Tong is not forbidden by the Tribunal. That would be a fine mess! How then would the Houses play out the Great Game? The Morag Tong is a tool in the hands of the Great Houses, in the unending competition for honor, glory and power. As long as the Tong (and the Houses) follow the Mephala Entente

Code: Select all

laid down in ancient times, anyone may be marked, from the High Hlaalu himself to the lowliest Telvani serf. The consequences of marking are the realm of the Great Game -- it has been many years since anyone dared set the Tong onto Hlaalu kin. Today the Game is mostly played out between the various client houses. And of course non-Dunmer are forbidden to hire or to be marked; some say that Tiber Septim himself negotiated this arrangement with the Morag Tong at the time of the Armistice[/i]

I don't think that this club is a bar , seems something more important...

Hmm, I think you're right. Perhaps the Theoretical Dignity Club is not a bar. Maybe the name refers to the nature of assassination itself. It could be that the Theoretical Dignity Club is the (poorly masked) political headquarters of the Morag Tong.

This information is extremely outdated. Unless I'm much mistaken, House Hlaalu now vies with Indoril for the top spot, Indoril being the established (but decaying) power and Hlaalu being the challenging (and rapidly growing) one. I thought that the only way to explain the magnificence of Narsis was to consider Hlaalu's great influx of wealth due to its relationship with the Empire. After all, how else would the "smallest and weakest of the five clans" make their capital in the most awe-inspiring city in the province? Am I the only one thinking along these lines?

U didn't complete to read everything and beyond the lines, House Hlaalu is the weakest of all the houses , but very rich becouse of the commerce , also due to the influence and approval of empire the house grow in political power having the right hand of the empire on their side....

Actually I did read the rest, lol, I'm just pointing out that maybe you should leave that top part out. Or put a disclaimer there, like "this is how House Hlaalu used to be...". Something. Sorry.

Just making sure that ancient history gets confused with the present situation, that's all. The shots look GREAT, prometheus. Narsis is without a doubt the crown jewel of the province (assuming we can complete the thing in time, I'm scared by the amount of interiors required).

That's a lot of interiors; how many is Almalexia going to have? Narsis is going to have to be smaller... Although, is it possible to start claiming these interiors yet?
